ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
These jobs are found in Headquarters (HQ). Job holders report to the Division or the designate, and work under the functional supervision of the Director, Information Technology (IT).
Job holders operate with minimal supervision across several business areas maintaining contacts with business counterparts to bring business needs into IT. They are heavily involved in day–to-day activities and analytical work. Job holders provide advice on business needs using their technical knowledge and experience. They may provide guidance to more junior staff.
JOB PURPOSE
Partner with the business to understand their needs and operating environment in order to transform business requirements into solutions exploiting IT capabilities and focusing on business satisfaction.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Capture, analyze and document (i.e. through diagrams, flowcharts, data models, user experience designs, storyboards) business requirements for IT solutions and services following WFP policies, standards and strategies.
- Communicate business requirements to business counterparts, for a shared understanding of the requirements and effective implementation of strategies/plans.
- Baseline and track business requirements through to implementation ensuring efficient management of change.
- Support TEC Sourcing Management to analyze cost reduction opportunities, and sources for TEC spend categories.
- Establish and maintain close partnerships with business counterparts to effectively meet their needs.
- Support or manage procurement programs and operational activities,following standard processes to contributing to successful procurement IT related services.
- Manage the service catalog of IT solutions offered to the business, including current, retired and those in the pipeline to ensure effective knowledge management.
- Manage alignment of IT service levels with SLAs for solutions or services focused on the business needs. Conduct survey on business satisfaction with IT solutions and services.
- Track and analyze vendor performance and generate reports to identify potential risks and make recommendations on the actions for the risk mitigation plans;
- Manage estimates, business cases, planning, risk identification, problem and issue management to ensure the effective delivery of IT solutions.
- Adhere to processes, procedures and templates for the Business Relationship Management, Business Analysis and IT Project Management functions to ensure compliance and consistency.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Advanced university degree in Computer Science, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Legal or Accounting or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience or trainings/course.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant progressively responsible postgraduate experience in in developing and implementing complex organization programmes, initiatives, and projects.
Language:
- Fluency (level C) in English language.
- Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or Portuguese (a WFP’s working language)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- This is an International Professional position and is open to all nationalities.
- Mobility is and continues to be, a core contractual requirement in WFP. The selected candidate will be employed on a fixed term as well as a rotational contract with a probationary period of one year.
