JOB PURPOSE The World Food Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic is committed to assist vulnerable communities prone to disaster and climate change risks to improve their capacity to manage sustainable, shock-responsive and adaptable food systems. WFP will also institutionalize gender-sensitive climate change adaption and disaster risk management systems and knowledge at the national and community levels by enhancing capacity to apply adaptive and resilient models while expanding infrastructure and assets for anticipatory action, resilience to shocks and emergency preparedness. Under the direct supervision of an Outcome Manager, there are three Project Coordinator positions, which, supported by Programme Assistants, perform project management activities for
under the overall guidance of Head of Programme (operational matters) and Deputy Country Director (strategic direction) and supported by the Head of Suboffice (staff and implementation oversight in the south), ensuring necessary support and guidance to overcome challenges, make informed decisions, and ensure the successful completion of the project. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in project management as well as thematically related further education in management, agriculture, geography, geology, public finance and importantly climate or disaster risk management is considered an asset. Derived from the UN Cooperation Framework and national priorities, promoting participatory community engagement and nutrition-sensitive approaches, the 2nd generation Country Strategic Plan (2023-27 EN|RU) continues WFP’s human capital development, capacity building and productive asset creation activities to enhance the resilience and livelihoods of the poor and vulnerable, with a focus on food systems strengthening across three core pillars: (i) Social Protection; (ii) Climate Change Adaption, Disaster Risk Management & Emergency Preparedness; and (iii) Schools as platforms for healthy diets.
