ROLE PURPOSE: Senior Project Officer under Supervision of Protection Projects Manager will be responsible for; the management and the proper implementation of the protection project(s) in the Assigned Area.
He/she coordinates and monitors the work of the staff dedicated to these activities and he/she is responsible for a qualitative and regular reporting on various components of the project.
The SR Project Officer technical support required in developing SOPs, Training Guideline, Providing Guidance and Quality Check Related to: Identification and selection of beneficiaries, Outreach, Child Labor, Case Management, Partnership, Cash Assistant and soft Skills training. The SR Project Officer will liaise with and advise PDQ team in coordination with the Protection Projects Manager concerning relevant technical or quality issues associated with the programme in order to facilitate any necessary changes in programming design.

SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Protection Projects Manager
Staff directly reporting to this post: Case Mangers, and any other staff as designated/assigned by the Protection Projects Manager.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Support Protection Projects Manager and participate in planning, scheduling and developing protection project components.
- Support the Protection Projects Manager in defining the methodology of the protection project components.
- Identify active partners in the field of Protection and make sure that they meet SCJ selection criteria.
- Identify the needs, design and follow-up the capacity-building program dedicated to the Partners, while ensuring that Action against Hunger training selection criteria are applied
- Provide overall supervision to all activities (Identification and selection of beneficiaries, Outreach, Child Labor, Case Management, Partnership, Cash Assistant)
implemented in the area of operation.
- Supporting field staff in the timely implementation of activities at field level.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of activities implemented in the targeted area to ensure they are completed according to plan and in a timely and effective manner, giving particular attention to quality aspects.
- Working closely with PDQ staff in coordination with the Protection Projects Manager in order to ensure the quality of the programme activities.
- Working closely in coordination with the field Staff and logistic team to ensure all purchase and supply requests related to the activities implemented are done on time and according to SCJ procedures
- Documenting in a timely manner, all progress challenges, and learning for future implementation
- Monitor budget / expenditure and report variances to the project manager in a timely manner for proper planning, reporting and adjustment.
- Report to the Protection Projects Manager the work progress on a weekly basis including implemented work, next week’s target, difficulties, problems and updates.
- Report on staff related issues, team’s weekly plans and safety issues.
- Provide regular reports on project indicator progress following the program documents.
- Participate in preparation of donor reports and SCJ activity progress reports.
- Ensure regular updates to Protection Projects Manager on Partners activities.
- Provide MEAL department with project data as required by project MEAL plan
- Participate in the humanitarian response led by SCJ in all operational and thematic areas.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Protection Projects Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Bachelor Degree in social work/business administration or related field
- Substantial 3- 5 years’ experience in related field.
- Good knowledge of and experience in using established inter-agency standards and guidelines in child protection, and build capacities of local partners
- Proven technical skills with effective personal communication skills
- Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, provide support and guidance for the staff
- Ability to achieve results and maintain consistent high standards of professional behaviour and achievement, including when working alone.
- Ability to communicate and maintain appropriate and productive relations with a range of actors, including children, parents, local and national authorities.
- Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic
- Ability and willingness to travel within Jordan.
