Job Purpose
To provide quality monitoring, data utilization, and supervising monitoring assistants. Supporting the Planning, Monitoring, Learning, and Accountability (PMLE) lead in coordination of programmes & activities.

- Ensure high-quality data collection during various monitoring activities and report findings accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate in debrief meetings after monitoring to discuss recommendations, improvements, and actions for future monitoring, and provide guidance to third-party monitors as needed.
- Engage in reflection sessions with colleagues to interpret monitoring data and make improvements to activity designs and implementation.
- Contribute to the analysis of data collected from various sources.
- Support the Monitoring & Evaluation lead in implementing recommendations and taking necessary actions based on previous reports.
- Help implement the WFP Country Office learning agenda by documenting success stories and good practices through stories, photos, and videos from the field.
- Support data collection and analysis for assessments, evaluations, and other evidence-generating activities as part of the learning agenda implementation.
- Follow up on complaints received from people we serve through various channels like hotlines and field monitoring, working with program focal points and others to address their concerns.
- Support downstream accountability by monitoring activities and addressing grievances and suggestions from the community.
- Engage with cooperating partners and local authorities, providing essential information to the people we serve during field monitoring and related activities.
- Represent the AO in internal and external meetings and forums, especially at the field level, when required.
- Conduct interviews to gather feedback and complaints from beneficiaries, contributing to program improvement, and report any operational issues at the field level that may affect WFP's operations, regardless of monitoring checklists.
Do you meet the minimum requirements?
Education : A post-secondary certificate or bachelors degree
Experience: At least 6 years’ experience supporting monitoring & evaluation activities in a humanitarian context.
Experience in field data collection (including electronic data collection) and engagement with communities.
Data management & Report writing experience
Experience in leading a team is an added advantage.
Practical expertise in monitoring including tools design, data collection and analysis.
Language: Fluency in oral and written communication in English and Somali.
Knowledge & Skills
- General knowledge of humanitarian and development work in Somalia
- Excellent soft skills including, but not limited to, communication skills, observation skills, listening skills, etc.
- Analytical skills including deductive and inductive reasoning, thematic reasoning, pattern analysis, etc.
- Able to effectively use different computer applications including Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
