Job Description
CDM Smith is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support our Jordan office. The job duties are as follows:
Content Development

  • Assist in writing and producing presentations, reports, relevant media coverage, and project descriptions, showcasing the projects’ progress in Arabic/English.
  • Support in translating articles, media news, and press releases in either Arabic/English.
  • Format and proofread reports.

Events And Training Courses

  • Support in the coordination of events with vendors, service suppliers, etc.
  • Support in events planning and management.
  • Maintain records of the event – event file including registration sheets, photos, media exposure, materials, etc.

Visual Design And Product Development

  • Support in designing and editing printed materials.
  • Ensure branding and style compliance across all materials.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain reliable and high-quality records.
  • Update tracking sheets and databases.
  • Provide support in the procurement process.
  • Provide general support as needed to the Communications Specialist.

Minimum Qualifications
Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or other related area.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience with preparing communications products in compliance with USAID or other International development agencies/NGOs is preferred, particularly in areas of report writing (e.g., annual/quarterly reports), branding and marketing, developing success stories, organizing public events, and preparing other communications materials to highlight project activities.
  • Legally authorized to work in Jordan.
  • Prior experience working with graphics, design or data visualization would be a plus.

Skills And Abilities

  • Excellent command of grammar and spelling in Arabic and English.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite .
  • Ability to organize, negotiate and drive results to meet schedules.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to participate as a contributing member of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a timely and efficient manner.

Background Check and Drug Testing Information
CDM Smith reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. In addition, CDM Smith may conduct drug testing for designated positions. Background checks are conducted after an offer of employment has been made in the United States. The timing of when background checks will be conducted on candidates for positions outside the United States will vary based on country statutory law but in no case, will the background check precede an interview. CDM Smith will conduct interviews of qualified individuals prior to requesting a criminal background check, and no job application submitted prior to such interview shall inquire into an applicant's criminal history. If this position is subject to a background check for any convictions related to its responsibilities and requirements, employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history. Criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate. In addition, during employment individuals may be required by CDM Smith or a CDM Smith client to successfully complete additional background checks, including motor vehicle record as well as drug testing.
