CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières runs the Reconstructive Surgery Hospital (RSH) in Amman as part of the regional
Reconstructive Surgery Program (RSP), which started in 2006. The RSP has as its goal giving access to
reconstructive surgery (orthopedic, plastic and maxillo-facial) to war wounded people and providing
comprehensive health care (including rehabilitation and mental health support). MSF aims at identifying and
referring patients from neighboring countries (Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and other countries with conflicts) then
ensuring their medical follow-up after discharge.
Médecins Sans Frontières Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Amman is recruiting a Network Physiotherapy
Supervisor (1).
THE JOB
Supervising the follow-up by Network physiotherapists (NP) of individual treatment programs for patients
in their home countries
Supervising and consolidating the networking and mapping of physiotherapy activities centers (PAC) in
referral countries performed by NPs.
Supporting NPs in their home countries and being the focal person inside the RSH.
Create and develop a training program and regional support.
Continue designing and developing the assessments catalogue (assessments, functional and home
exercises.
Supervise in collaboration with the NPs, the continued creation and development of videos for exercise
and functional assessment of RSH patients.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Link the communication with RSH surgeons and NPs in Iraq and Yemen.
Carrying out analysis and improving networking by collecting and maintaining one database from NPs in
home countries on existing PACs.
Create a training program to support NPs with training for MSF or non-MSF actors in their home countries.
Provide a physio follow-up to the patients all along their treatment pathway, from the identification to the final
discharge.
Provide technical support for the PACs in the patient’s home countries (when needed and regarding the
referred cases)
Collect the NPs feedback from Yemen and Iraq about the physio patients’ status and share it with the
validation committee (VC), MLOs and physio.
In collaboration with the Physiotherapy manager/Network Coordinator, creates the tools, protocols and
process that will be used to assess the RSP patients remotely after their return to their home countries
between their treatment stages.
Field visits upon request of the network coordinator’s home countries to explore the physio referral possibility,
assess the PAC capacities, strengthen the collaboration, and define referral pathways, besides supporting the
NP in Iraq and Yemen.
PROFILE
Essential, Physiotherapist’s official degree/diploma.
Essential: 4 years of technical experience, including at least 2 years of orthopedic experience.
Essential: at east 2 years of experience in a supervisory position (supervising activity or team)
Essential: Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic.
Essential: Computer literacy (word, excel, internet)
Highly Desirable: Experience in MSF or other INGOs or experience in Hospital settings
WORK LOCATION: Based in Amman, with the flexibility to travel to Iraq and Yemen
CONTRACT: One year (3 months probation period).
Desired start date: August 2023
