Electronics Engineering Intern
NMT Electronics is seeking a motivated and talented individual to upskill their electronics engineering expertise within our team as an unpaid intern. This internship will provide a unique opportunity to work alongside our skilled engineers and other interns to contribute to various aspects of PCB design, electronics hardware development, embedded firmware development, and research/educational content creation. The successful candidate will gain practical experience and exposure to practical technologies in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Open Fields
There are five possible sub technical paths for the intern to choose of:
- Functional hardware design and PCB design
- Product design and documentation and CAD design for electronic products
- Embedded and IoT firmware development
- Educational content creator (blogging, social media, webinars, and courses)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the PCB design team to create and modify printed circuit board layouts using industry-standard tools such as KiCAD and Altium Designer
- Assist in electronics hardware design activities, including schematic capture, component selection, and prototype assembly for automation systems, home automation, IoT devices, and edtech development kits
- Contribute to embedded firmware development projects, utilizing Arduino and C programming languages to design and implement software solutions for our products
- Participate in research initiatives, conduct literature reviews and data collection
- Contribute to the creation of educational content, such as tutorials, documentation, and technical articles, to support our customers and community
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or finished a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong knowledge and understanding of electronics theory and technologies
- Familiarity with electronics hardware and software development technologies and tools
- Passion for technology and a keen interest in contributing and self-developing in this field
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Fluent English language and solid communication skills and technological literacy
