Part-time Research Internship in Fintech Startup
We are seeking highly motivated university students for a part-time Research internship for a fintech startup in its incubation stage. As a researcher, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience by conducting research, analyzing software, technology and business requirements, networking, presenting and summarizing your findings in written documents. You will also attend workshops at a startup incubation program. This internship will provide you with exposure to the dynamic world of fintech startups and technology, allowing you to develop your skills and network with industry professionals.
Responsibilities – you will handle some or a mix of all the following depending on your skillset and the startup needs during the time of your involvement:
- Conduct research on software requirements and various software engineering standards related to Open Banking APIs in the region
- Run basic software/ QA tests
- Conduct hypothesis testing and basic statistical analysis on data-related tests
- Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of MVP products in the pipeline and in testing environments
- Assist in the development of the startup MVP pipeline
- Assist in the delivery of rapid prototypes and gathering of feedback
- Conduct research on various topics related to fintech, startups, and technology
- Conduct market research, market surveys and market analyses
- Generate lead pipelines based on different requirements
- Write comprehensive reports summarizing research findings
- Present the startup in a good light on tasks and assignments
- Attend stakeholder meetings, user feedback sessions, startup events, meetups, workshops and others as needed
Skills
Must haves:
- Currently enrolled in a university program, preferably in computer science, software engineering, economics, information systems or similar. Other fields will also be considered provided the candidate is interested in technology and fintech.
- Interest in fintech, startups, and technology.
- Willingness to complete provided tasks effectively with a high degree of motivation.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Commitment to the internship term.
- Ability to work an average of 15-25 hours per week.
- Based in Amman, Jordan during the internship.
Desired Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and write reports effectively.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Creative thinking and adaptable.
- Capable of thriving in a continuously changing environment.
- Not a must: Have an excellent understanding of various software architectures, especially those pertaining to rapid prototyping and micro-services.
This is a part-time internship position funded with a small stipend. As an intern, you will gain valuable experience in the fintech and startup sectors, expand your professional network, and enhance your research skills. You would also open up doors for future employment with the same startup or others in the industry. This position offers flexible working hours, but some predefined requirements will be set.
