Communication Specialist – (Strategic Planning and Communication Specialist)

The “Green Action in Enterprises (GAIN)” project in Jordan is seeking a Communication Specialist – (Strategic Planning and Communication Specialist) for full-time base employment as per the below job profile.

Qualifications and specialist knowledge

  • At least 7 years of experience in project management, strategic planning, and PR in international organizations
  • Qualification in project management or strategic planning is preferred      
  • University degree in PR/communication or related fields      
  • Excellent writing skills and preparation of visually interactive presentations      
  • Excellent workshop moderation skills and communication skills      
  • Very good knowledge of GIZ communication and PR strategies and corporate design
  • Very good working knowledge of ICT Technologies and computer applications especially MS Teams and Powerpoint
  • Fluency in Arabic/English and preferably in German

Main activities

  • Support the project manager in any project management tasks or urgent communication and project management requests      
  • Coordinate internal & external PR-related communication with PR service providers (agencies, photographers, trainers), facilitate PR activities with counterparts, and assures the quality check of all products and publications      
  • Advise the project team internally or implementing partners on any communication-related inquiries      
  • Prepare visibility materials including brochures, presentations, and other relevant communication materials.  
  • Support the project team in understanding project strategy and plans and how it relates to their work, by planning and delivering internal communications activity for the team and by supporting the annual project progress reporting.
  • Establish and continuously enhance the project directory and external communication in cooperation with the project team
  • Support the project manager in developing and enhancing knowledge management     
  • Support the process of conducting project strategic reviews and reflections with the project team to adapt plans accordingly and effectively implement the strategy      

Core tasks

You work on all job orders within your remit and are the main contact for advising managers and other staff members on all issues in the thematic area. You are also responsible for providing specialist support to colleagues in bands 2 and 3 and ensuring the quality of the commission’s outcomes.

You clearly communicate the relevant requirements, conditions, and restrictions in terms of your capacity to act.

You coordinate the process for awarding contracts, work on tasks in accordance with the relevant legal, contractual, socio-political, and corporate policy requirements and monitor the processing and fulfillment of those contracts.

You are involved in the further development of instruments and help to ensure that innovations and changes are incorporated into them.

In consultation with your team colleagues and line manager, you also coordinate all issues within your area of work and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and competently. You resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team.

You are involved in ongoing process development within your remit, are responsible for knowledge management, and prepare and share documentation.

You perform the tasks assigned to you by your line manager, where required.
