Major Responsibilities:

The Livelihoods Officer will be responsible to coordinate, supervises, and provides technical assistance for the implementation livelihoods projects’ activities Jordan; she will be responsible for:

  1. Coordinate, supervise, and provide technical assistance for the implementation of livelihoods’ project(s) implemented by IRJ country office.
  2. Develop Project(s) detailed implementation plans and ensure the effective tracking of the project(s) and provide financial management support to track project(s) expenditures and cash flow.
  3. Ensure livelihoods’ activities are implemented in full compliance with IRJ standards.
  4. Prepare & contribute to donors reporting requirements on weekly, monthly, quarterly and Annually basis as requested by line manager.
  5. Coordinate with all concerned stakeholders and potential private sector sponsors to facilitate networking/creation of potential work opportunities for targeted beneficiaries.
  6. Co-coordinate and facilitate the launch of assessments, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions on livelihoods and market ecosystems in targeted communities.
  7. Oversee the mapping of beneficiary skills & correspondent opportunities in targeted communities.
  8. Assist in the design and translation of informative materials as needed, including presentations, handouts, and exercises.
  9. Support in data collection, monitoring, and evaluation efforts with IRJs Monitoring and Evaluation framework as needed.
  10. Support continual improvement of IRJ livelihoods’ activities by capturing and sharing key challenges, articulating obstacles and proposed solutions, and identifying success stories to highlight.
  11. Perform any other task(s) assigned by the management.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE

Technical skills and experience:

  • Proven expertise and understanding of emergency preparedness and response issues with relevant technical competence in emergency needs assessment and implementation.
  • At least two years of experience in developing the capacities of the beneficiaries through implementing livelihoods projects, “business-startup” grants and vocational trainings to vulnerable groups, including refugees is a plus.
  • Good field experience in emergency and development program management, preferably with non-government organizations.
  • Ability to work effectively as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team and to work with a wide range of government and community counterparts, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with women & youth-based economic empowerment programmes, especially with vulnerable groups including refugee youth is a plus.
  • Understanding of the socio-economic conditions of Syrian refugee populations and their impact on local economy and host communities.

  • Understanding of humanitarian contexts and principles:
  • Good understanding of humanitarian issues, with experience of/or ability to work directly with local NGOs or communities.

  • Relevant experience in implementing security policy/protocols.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor s or college degree in business, economics, political/social sciences, public administration, international, development or a relevant equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with NGOs.

Languages:

  • Good spoken and written English
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic
