Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and mission-driven Regional Director to lead the company's growth in Jordan and across the MENA region.

Reporting to the CEO, the Regional Director will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on opportunities, building and nurturing a high-performing team, and delivering excellence and impact.

The successful candidate will oversee Lapis' operations, act as the company's representative in Jordan and the MENA region, and be responsible for developing and maintaining key relationships, meeting revenue targets, and overseeing operations, finance, and human resources.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

· Develop and execute a growth strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

· Identify untapped opportunities and market trends to drive expansion and revenue generation.

· Proactively pursue new clients, establish strategic partnerships, and leverage networks to expand our work within the region.

· Stay updated on industry trends and the competitive landscape, conducting market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks.

· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, clients, partners, government entities, media, and industry influencers.

· Participate in and contribute to Lapis' global business development efforts.

Program/Client Management

· Ensure the delivery of projects with excellence, meeting timelines and contractual obligations.

· Collaborate with other Lapis entities and staff to optimize creative, operational, and other resources.

· Oversee quality control of products, reports, budgets, and proposals.

· Ensure effective financial management in accordance with approved project budgets.

· Maintain focus on shared goals for social impact.

Personnel Management

· Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing team, including hiring, training, and performance management.

· Manage Lapis staff in the Jordan/MENA office, including consultants and contractors.

· Foster a strong team spirit aligned with Lapis' core values.

· Conduct regular individual performance assessments.

· Identify human resource needs and follow HR processes for recruitment and staff development.

· Proactively adapt the staffing structure to meet needs and funding.

Financial, Legal, and Compliance Management

  • Develop and manage regional budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support growth initiatives.
  • Submit regular financial status reports, including projections.
  • Ensure staff awareness and adherence to Lapis procedures and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative and financial systems and procedures.
  • Collaborate with corporate financial, legal, and compliance teams, adhering to Lapis systems and regulations.
  • Work with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks at all levels.

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, communications, marketing or a related field; MBA or relevant Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar senior management role, with experience in any of the following fields: media and creative fields, social impact organizations, or strategic communications within the development sector. Demonstrated commitment to equity and social impact.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving growth and expansion; regional experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to develop and mentor a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • Deep knowledge of regional political, social, and cultural environments and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Fluency in English required. Fluency in Arabic preferred.
  • Candidates preferred to be located in Amman, Jordan(regional hub).However, we are open to considering candidates from other areas within the region if it would be beneficial for our business development.
  • Ability to travel for work purposes.
