Job Title: Emergency Medicine Specialist FSR # 409

Location: Zaatari

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assessing patients who enter the emergency room immediately and overseeing emergency recovery.
• Performs triage on incoming patients to become part of the ER’s current load
• Monitoring patients' conditions and progress, and re-evaluating treatments, as necessary.
• To assess and treat or admit patients by reviewing and understanding their medical backgrounds and examining them to assess their current condition and health including suspected/ confirmed COVID-19 patients.
• Request, perform, interpret, and analyze Lab tests (rationally) to diagnose patients' condition. Perform patient physical examination. Analyze test data or images to for diagnosis and patient management and treatment.
• Conducting follow-up visits to monitor the patient’s condition.
• Ensuring that patients are stable before transferring them to the proper department for further evaluation.
• Assess and examine patients to establish if an advance management or procedure is needed at secondary or tertiary care level hospital outside the camps
• Counsel patients and their families about disease, prognosis, management and expectations.
• Refer patients to other medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary and participate in ambulance escort when needed.
• Preparing official medical h documents and records.
• Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating and liaising closely with colleagues including specialist doctors, referral doctor, ER staff and doctors, other GP and surgeons.
• Provide support and advice to colleagues working in other teams
• Taking detailed patient history, recording findings and management/intervention and referral plans.
• Undertake associated administrative work.
• Ensure a rational prescription of medicines from the essential drug list of the camp or provide a medical rational for an exceptional treatment.
• Ensure the quality, disinfection and sterilization of the medical equipment and material and assuring compliance to national guidelines/SOPs.
• When requested, perform training of the medical/paramedical team in order to optimize the quality of care;
• Respect and follow the health standard operating procedures (reporting diseases with outbreak nature, HIS reporting, referral procedures, etc.).
• Ensures professional confidentiality is respected;
• Additional Tasks when requested.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provision of PHC services:

• Preventive

1. Medical checkup
2. Family Planning Counseling
3. Child growth monitoring and immunization status
4. Health education provision and increase people awareness about their current health
5. conditions and health promotion in general

• Curative
  1. Medical consultation including family, medical history and full physical examination
  2. Management of acute and chronic conditions
  3. Prescription of drugs according to national/international standard treatment protocol.

• Referral
  1. Referral to secondary and tertiary care as needed
  2. Referral to Basic Rapid Diagnostic test (clinic nurse)
  3. Referral to clinic obstetrician-gynecologist
  4. Referral to clinic health educator

• Administrative:

1. Supervise ER GP Doctor
2. Fill patient clinical record file for each patient visit
3. Prescribe drug on clinic prescription form
4. Fill referral form for any referral case outside of clinic.

• Technical Assistance (TA):

1. Provide TA in development of health education material and health promotion campaign as necessary
2. Assist in development of Health Education Plan as necessary
3. Provide advice on drug and medical supply order in coordination with clinic pharmacist.

• Training:

1. Participate in medical and management trainings as determine by IMC senior management
2. Continue self-education to adhere with national/international standards and new advancements in the field of general practice and other relevant medical areas

• Others:

1. Ensure integration of clinic services and promote best quality standards for client
2. Support provision of training and supervision of nurses/midwives and health educators.

Minimum Requirements:

• MOH Licensing & Education Certification & Licensed Emergency specialist, Full Board Certification.
• Emergency department Experience (IS a must).
• Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) or advanced trauma life support (ATLS) training.
• Experience with an NGO/INGO desirable.
• Excellent in English language, speaking and writing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• He is willing to offer his certificate to obtain MOH clinic license
