Scope and Objectives

The Kaizen Company is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant to support the four-year USAID/Jordan Enhancing School Management and Planning (ESMP) Project. The ESMP Project objective is to improve the school management and planning process, and the quality of school environments in Jordan by enhancing the planning, oversight, operation, and maintenance capabilities of the Ministries of Education (MOE) and Public Works and Housing (MPWH). The scope of this project is to provide assessment expertise, technical assistance, capacity building, collaboration facilitation, and training to the MOE, MPWH, targeted stakeholders, and counterparts engaged in school management and planning to improve performance and sustain these improvements.

Kaizen will hire an entry-level Jordanian M&E Assistant with the following key responsibilities and required qualifications for the full-time position.

Position Summary

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant will support the coordination and administration of data collection activities and workshops, and data entry, analysis, and reporting. This position will report to the M&E Specialist and will be based in Amman, Jordan.

Expected responsibilities include:

  • Provide support to the M&E Specialist to refine and implement the Project’s MEL Plan.
  • Collect data and administer surveys among project-related committees, communities of practice, working groups, schools, and field directorates; ensure that all stakeholder data is entered properly.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and security of all data collected by the MEL Plan.
  • Support the maintenance and monitoring of the MEL Plan.
  • Support and coordinate M&E, analyses, and assessments throughout the life of the project, including data quality assessments, participatory data collection methods and protocols, and data quality verification techniques.
  • Support the M&E Specialist to monitor program activities through custom indicators that track quality and act as an early warning and forecasting system.
  • Verify, clean, and control data input and storage in the Project’s M&E system.
  • Contribute to the production of M&E reports and other project products.

Qualifications

  • An university degree in international relations, economics, statistics, political science, public policy, or another relevant field.
  • Experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection activities (surveys, assessments, monitoring, evaluations, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting participatory or impact evaluations.
  • Experience writing findings and recommendations in assessment or evaluation reports.
  • Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)/Google Sheets/pivot tables.
  • Strong background with data analysis and data management techniques using. SPSS/STATA or R, or similar programs.
  • Experience working for USAID or other donor-funded development programs preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
