The Solid Waste Management -SWM Cluster in Jordan is seeking a “Junior IT Specialist for full-time base employment as per the below job profile.

Qualifications and specialist knowledge

  • University degree in computer science or a related field. (CIS, computer engineering, … ).
  • Good knowledge of MySQL database management and report generation using queries.
  • 3 years of experience in a relevant position.      
  • Understanding of data security and protection policies and regulations.
  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.      
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Data visualization skills will be an added value.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to our partners' offices throughout the country.
  • Certificates MCSA, MCSE, ITIL are plus

Main activities

  • Manage our data collection system, including following up with our partners, reviewing and approving their data submissions, and providing support and training as needed.
  • Provide IT technical support to our team, including managing our network infrastructure and providing assistance with staff laptops and other IT-related tasks.
  • Ensure that our partners are properly trained to use our data collection system and implement their work properly.
  • Conduct and participate in regular meetings with our partners and team members.
  • Manage the MySQL database and generate reports using queries.
  • Use data visualization skills to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ensure that all data management tasks are performed in compliance with internal SOPs.
  • Manage network infrastructure including switches, access points, firewalls, and backups.
  • Act as IT system admin and provide support for staff laptops.
  • Assist with the implementation of new IT-related projects as needed.
  • Participate in IT-related meetings and trainings as required.
  • Keep an up-to-date list of all IT Managed Assets.
  • Maintain up to date IT documentation.
  • Conduct regular visits to work locations and partners offices as per the request form the project manager

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Junior Data Management and IT Technical Support Specialist to join our team.

The Junior Specialist will primarily be responsible for managing our data collection system, which includes following up with our partners, reviewing and approving their data submissions, and providing support and training as needed.

Additionally, the Junior Specialist will be responsible for providing IT technical support to our team, including managing our network infrastructure and providing assistance with staff laptops and other IT-related tasks.

The Junior Specialist will work under the direction of the Data Unit Component Manager for data management tasks, and in coordination with the Country Office IT professionals for IT technical support tasks.

Our team has internal SOPs regarding the data management tasks, and an IT guideline regarding the network setups and staff laptops. The Junior Specialist will be expected to always comply with these guidelines.
