KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Media monitoring
- Monitor traditional and social media and other sources for information and updates relevant to WFP in Myanmar and its mandate
- Produce media monitoring reports regularly or on ad-hoc basis as required
Content Management
- Conduct field visits to WFP implementation areas and gather photos, videos, and stories.
- Conduct research, suggest ideas, and provide support to ensure the timely and effective delivery of communications/advocacy projects
- Assist in developing various internal and external publications such as social media posts, stories, posters, and infographics ensuring consistency with WFP’s messages and branding guidelines
- Manage and maintain databases, such as photos and videos, and contact lists, to ensure the information is accurate, organised and readily available
Social Media
- Manage the WFP Myanmar social media page(s) as guided by the Communications Strategy.
Visibility
- Produce and manage a stockpile of visibility and IEC materials
- Work with technical units and field offices to ensure proper field visibility of WFP operations
- Support technical units and field offices with development and delivery of community communication activities

Outreach
• Assist with the management of external advocacy events such as press conferences, field visits, exhibitions to ensure that they are effectively scheduled, attended, and publicised
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a view to identify opportunities for relevant collaboration
Others
• Conduct translations (English to Burmese and or vice versa)
• Assist in preparing presentations and meeting notes
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area such as communications, public relations, media or journalism, and digital marketing.
Experiences: Minimum six years working experiences in communications, public relations, digital marketing, or in media industry or 3 years of working experience with relevant education/training
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Myanmar.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
- Skill and experience in social Media management, writing, photo-/videography and graphic design are an advantage.
- Skill and experience with translations
- Ability to travel to field locations as required (such as conflict-affected areas and or locations affected by natural disasters).
