BTEC – Teaching and Learning Quality Support Manager (FTC 36 Months)

About the role

The role is based within Pearson’s Workforce Skills vertical – in the vocational qualification division. Pearson currently delivers career and skill-based qualifications and services in more than 50 countries.

You will be responsible for providing local sustainable support for BTEC International customers located in Jordan, as the Teaching and Learning Quality Support Manager, you will carry out centre observations review programme content and provide feedback, highlighting best practice and opportunities for improvement.

You will work closely with key Pearson contacts such as the International Regional Sales lead, the International Quality Managers, International Standards Verifiers, and the Senior Professional Development Manager to keep up to date on any internal changes impacting the delivery of the qualification and recommend training demonstrating a high level of understanding of the education sector in order to provide guidance to their respective teams.

Being located in Jordan, this role will report into the Workforce Skills Regional Manager MENA and Turkey based in the UAE.

About your key accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Support customers through lifecycle and improve the customer experience
  • Support and produce guidance to centres during the centre approval and qualification approval process
  • Support the delivery and assessment of all BTEC vocational qualifications
  • Ensure that the assessment standards are maintained by providing advice and guidance on internal and external quality assurance processes
  • Support for international standards verifiers
  • Customer compliance with awarding body regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in centre programme delivery, making recommendations based on observations and/or delegate feedback.

Maintenance of Quality standards by:

  • Ensuring that new centres comply with all approval requirements
  • Ensuring appropriate qualification approvals
  • Assisting in the assurance of the validity of learner achievement and certification
  • Helping centres to manage assessment and verification processes, by assisting policy development

Provide Leadership and Support by:

  • Being able to offer subject specific advice, in one or more subject sectors
  • Advising on programme delivery, assessments and internal and external verification

Contribute to the Growth of the Business by:

  • Utilizing company resources wisely whilst deployed on company business
  • Providing the level of support to centres that will enhance the name and reputation of the company
  • Ensuring that all service levels are achieved

Maintain Accurate and Auditable Records by:

  • Ensuring that auditable records are maintained
  • Ensuring that all records relating to the quality of all provision are accurate and current
  • Providing a monthly report of activity containing specified data
  • Report to Senior PD Manager the performance of CPD locally escalating any risks to delivery.

About you

These are essential to be successful in the role

  • Degree or relevant vocational qualifications or extensive experience
  • Distinguished in both Arabic and English
  • Detailed knowledge of BTEC Operations, Procedures and Quality Policy.
  • Extensive knowledge of BTEC and vocational qualification assessment, delivery, procedures, and policy
  • Strong Qualification subject and/ or BTEC Product Knowledge
  • You will have a background in teaching including delivering of training face to face and online
  • BTEC Operational Experience
  • Detailed knowledge of vocational assessment methodology
  • Clear understanding of the current educational landscape in the UK and in Jordan
  • You will have proven leadership and Management skills
  • You will be able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to your own professional development
  • Forging effective working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • The post will require a high level of professionalism and integrity to assure the ongoing prescribed standard of all vocational qualifications and centres

These elements are preferred

  • Understanding of the self-regulated Framework
  • Experience delivering training on behalf of Pearson or another awarding body
  • Experience of developing training materials
