JOB PURPOSE
WFP is looking for Programme Associate SC-6 to be based in Samakhisay District, Attapeu Province
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer and Overall Supervision of the Head of Field Office in Pakse, the Programme Associate is responsible for:
- Provide project management and/or general office support following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures;
- Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporate standards and guidelines;
- Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities;
- Support coordination and communication of activities on behalf of WFP with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions;
- Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary;
- Support planning for SO1, SO2, SO3 and SO4 project / activities at district level in collaboration and coordination with relavant government offices at the provincial and district level
- Supervise and performance management of district level field staff including program assistants and district community facilitators
- Support implementation Social and Behavior Change (SBC), cash based transfer (CBT) and other activities of the programme.
- Regularly monitoring and provide updates and reports on the field activities implemented, assess project performance including utilization of resources and achievement of planned targets with technical quidance for Field Office, Monitoring and Evaluation Unite and the Programme unit from Country office.
- Drafting of initial minutes of meetings and proceedings of reviews and collecting information from villages regarding programme progress and achievements.
- Perform other duties as required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of Secondary School Education. A Bachelor’s Degree in agriculture, nutrition, public health, social sciences is desirable.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Lao and English. Ability to speak at least one ethnic group language is an asset
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
- At least six (6) years' relevant working experience in rural community development, agriculture or equivalent is preferable.
- Experience working with different technical teams (agriculture, health, education) and contributed programme implementation.
- Experience working in difficult locations with people of different backgrounds.
- Excellent word and excel processing skills.
- Knowledge of database and data analysis is an asset.
- Able to drive motorbike in rural setting.
- Ability to work independently.
