BACKGROUND & PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Duty of Care team, WFP Malawi seeks to engage a qualified professional aerobics trainer to provide aerobics services to UN Personnel and their dependents, within designated UN agencies in Lilongwe and Blantyre.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
• Identify the clients’ fitness level and health
• Oversee completion of exercise routines
• Track clients’ physical progress
• Modify exercise plans based on needs, potential injuries, or health issues
• Conduct individual and group fitness training sessions
• Adopt a holistic training approach (cardiovascular exercise, strength & endurance, improve client’s sleep cycle, their diet and nutrition habits, their mindset and mental health)
• Oversee the use of fitness equipment to ensure clients exercise properly and safely
• Handle nutrition and health-related questions
• Refer to and promote fitness packages and plans
• Carry out First Aid and CPR if needed
• Follow safety and hygiene guidelines

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education.
Experience: Three or more years of work experience as a Physical trainer
Knowledge & Skills:
• Previous work experience as a Fitness Trainer or similar role
• Knowledge of diverse exercises and how to adjust plans according to each client’s needs
• Ability to instruct and motivate people
• Excellent communication skills
• Teamwork
• Available late shifts and when the need arises
• Proven experience of CPR and First Aid
• Proven knowledge and skills in Sports Science
• Must have extensive training in aerobics
Language: Fluency (level C) both in written and oral in English language. Fluency a/o understanding of Chichewa.

UN Personnel and their dependents:
- Have access to regular fitness programmes as an effective way to promote health and wellbeing, and contribute to the achievement of SDG 3
- Gain knowledge and skills in preventing and managing non-Communicable Diseases, mental health, and physical fitness ailments
- Gain knowledge and skills in range of different physical fitness routines
