- Duty and Responsibility
- Principle areas of responsibility/activities:
- Implementation of the GNI Jordan’s part to the GGGI funded project on “creating sustainable green jobs for refugees and host communities through the green economy in Jordan.”
- Effective communications and reporting on the project.
- Specific responsibilities, tasks, and activities:
With technical expertise in green business and vocational training, the incumbent should:
- Lead the committee to develop the training module and relevant tools;
- Ensure the effective implementation of the project in accordance with its requirement and in line with donor regulations and internal standards;
- Coordinate and work closely with implementing partners, trainers, and GN team (project assistants) throughout project planning and monitoring, according to the approved project description and work plan;
- Conduct capacity-building for stakeholders, community members, government officials, and staff in the area of vocational training and green business;
- Be responsible for providing technical guidance on all training components of the project, giving support to the implementing partner and the team;
- Together with the team, implement activities in line with the work plan and ensure timely production of and submission of project reports and budget revisions;
- Monitor and provide technical advice on the implementing partners’ activities;
- Participate in conducting joint assessments and planning responses and follow-ups on the recommendations;
- Ensure that there is a creative and holistic approach to vocational training and green business;
- Provide guidance and training to program assistants to ensure that all work is carried out in a way that is sensitive to community needs and gender issues;
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to staff as appropriate, in (for example, but not limited to) assessment, monitoring, evaluation, reporting (Internal and Donor Reports), financial management, proposal development, the technical design of water and sanitation facilities and the exercise of judgment skills;
- Participate proactively and contribute in the LLH cluster meetings and, at a technical level, engage with UN agencies and line ministries as needed;
- Work closely with field teams on objectives, indicators, and activities and develop clear monitoring frameworks for each program in collaboration with the M&E officer;
- Ensure the development, implementation, and periodic review of detailed annual implementation plans;
- Support other duties as required.
C. Competencies and Qualification
- At least five (5) years of experience with project implementation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field such as environmental science, sustainable development, economics, or a related discipline.
- Well-organized, resourceful with strong planning and problem-solving abilities, and demonstrated analytical, writing and reporting skills
- A team player: flexible, quick thinking, and working well under pressure. creating a supportive and conducive learning environment.
- Commitment to the Organization’s vision, mission, values, and goals.
- Ability to work in a multi-national environment
- Fluency in both English and Arabic
- Solid skills in the use of Microsoft Office and computers.
