About our Country Programs:

Relief International has been operating since 2004 with a focus on education, youth programming and WASH. RI is part of the Protection Taskforce at both the national and camp-level and co-leads the Child Labor and Sexual and the Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) taskforces in Za’atari and Azraq camps, and the Youth Taskforce for Syrian refugee camps.

At present, RI is operating through a Country Office in Amman where the management and support functions are based; and 16 education centers in Host communities in Amman, Zarqa, Irbid and Mafraq; and 6 education centers established in camps: Za’atari Camp in districts 3, 5 and 8 and in Azraq Camp in villages 2, 5 and 6 serving over 2,500 students and 303 caregivers.

Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the MEAL Officer, The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning volunteer, will be supporting the MEAL department on the implementation of MEAL filed activities including data collection related to the MEAL plans.

The MEAL volunteer will be responsible for cross-cutting programmatic monitoring and evaluation activities, and ensuring that information collected is available for reflection, driving decision-making, and is incorporated into consistently high-quality reports.

He/she works closely with the other MEAL Officers, Sr. Information Officer, and the MEAL Manager for supporting in the implementation of the monitoring and evaluation related activities. They will liaise with implementation staff on the ground and program management as necessary to collect data and ensure MEAL occurs in the field.

Volunteering Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Support MEAL activities in the field according to MEAL plans agreed between MEAL and program teams under a direct supervision of the programs MEAL officers:
  • Support MEAL department on conducting & following-up on the daily MEAL activities, including data collection related tasks/activities, including outcome and impact level tasks and activities based on the agreed MEAL plan/s.
  • Provide observational feedback to the Jordan office on field MEAL and Project activities.
  • Support the MEAL department on finalizing & conducting field assessments, surveys (including satisfaction surveys), FGD’s and data management.
  1. Reporting with support of the programs MEAL officers:
  • Support MEAL department on finalizing daily and weekly reports that shows the analysis of project activities and any data collected (against project indicators).
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of routine MEAL activities.
  1. Data Management with support of the programs MEAL Sr. Information Management officer:
  • Work closely with the MEAL department (especially the Information Management Section) and field teams for data collection and implementing assessments & surveys.
  • Proofreading and auditing of all collected data (example: Cross referencing daily attendance by class with the overall attendance and eliminating errors.
  • Ensure integrity and sound design for the collection and entry of data.
  • Safe storage of hard and soft copy of data; Filing all completed hard and soft copies; safe storage of hard and soft copy of data.
  1. Conduct additional data collection efforts as needed:
  • Under direction of the Sr. MEAL Officer/MEAL Manager perform ad-hoc research efforts in and around Jordan on different projects,
  • Enter the data from the collection efforts and send them back.
  1. Support MEAL department in conducting MEAL learning tasks:
  • Support MEAL department on capturing & conducting informal and formal lesson learned sessions/events in field or country level.
  1. Others MEAL tasks:
  • Support the program and MEAL teams by entering, storing, and presenting data to enable quality analysis and use.
  • Any other task as requested by the MEAL department.
  1. Other:
  • Comply with all relevant Relief International policies and procedures with respect to child protection policy, health and safety, equal opportunities, code of conduct and other relevant policies.
  • Maintain a spirit of innovation, optimism, open communication, and enthusiasm that will help propel the project forward.
  • Focus on innovative and creative methods of presenting data and information tailored to different teams/levels of management.

Safeguarding

  • Ensure that your behavior inside and outside of work promotes the values outlined with RI’s code of conduct and safeguarding policies.

Qualification Requirements:

  • A B.S. or B.A. degree in a social science or any related field.
  • Good English Language Skills (Writing & Speaking), IELTS certified preferably.
  • Excellent reporting skills, professional writing, and business reports.
  • 3-6 months experience in monitoring and evaluation activities (surveys, data entry and reporting) an asset.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, and another analysis software like SPSS, Power BI and Kobo an asset.
  • Background in in education, livelihood, ECD, refugees and development projects an asset.
  • Desire to learn, willingness to ask questions, cultural sensitivity, and flexibility are desired characteristics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.
