Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for minimizing costs, managing the day-to-day operation and calculating costs of food and beverage & Handicrafts items. Record information and produce control reports periodically to help maintain a suitable inventory of items.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and analyzes food and beverage and Handicrafts costs on a monthly basis and recommends alternatives to improve costs.
  • Assists in changing price menus or changes the prices of certain items based on the information collected.
  • Assists in the monthly inventories count and extension.
  • Establishes and maintains a database for inventory stock including up-to-date pricing.
  • Ensures proper storage and issuance of all items.
  • Costs all food and beverage & Handicrafts items and where practical, input these costs into the point of sales system and generates monthly potential cost of sales.
  • Maintain a daily record of inventory purchased for every chart of account and ensure it is balance with account payable.
  • Check invoices against receiving record and compare them with purchase order and purchase request, and to ensure that all invoices are stamped and signed by the authorized person.
  • Check and ensure that all inventories purchased are in balance with account payable on a bi-monthly basis.
  • Ensure that purchasing obtain up–to–date and accurate prices by comparing prices against suppliers’ quotations.
  • Audit monthly stock and prepare reconciliation on all stockrooms.
  • Post actual stock results in the system and print inventory valuation report.
  • Price Analysis and competitive analysis for all sections of the F&B with the support of Procurement department.
  • Weekly/ Monthly/ Quarterly Reports for all Social Enterprises.
  • Invoicing for all Social Enterprises

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance or other related field
  • Relevant certification will be preferred.
  • Strong English and Arabic language skills (written and spoken)
  • 3-5 years of Experience.
  • Solid experience in F&B industry in a similar position
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Hands-on experience with F&B software’s
