ABOUT THE POSITION

Duration: Initial 6 months with potential for extension.

Multiple positions open within different functions of WFP.

The Talent Management Consultant will be responsible for supporting the Staffing Coordinator in talent roster management, recruitment activities, and the creation of FIT Pools at the World Food Programme (WFP). FIT Pools (Future International Talent Pools) are pools of qualified and motivated candidates who have undergone a rigorous selection process and are pre-screened for specific job profiles within the organization. These pools serve as talent pipelines to fill future vacancies and enable WFP to have a readily available pool of candidates who meet the required qualifications and demonstrate potential for contributing to the organization’s mission. The incumbent will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and effective recruitment processes, talent acquisition, and the establishment of pools of qualified and motivated candidates that contribute to the diversity of the WFP workforce.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Collaborate with the Staffing Coordinator to develop recruitment strategies and targeted plans that effectively attract and acquire exceptional talent across multiple positions.
• Support the Staffing Coordinator in the creation and management of functional and integrated (FIT) pools and ensure positions are filled in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of essential elements needed to build the FIT Pool such as assessments, vacancy announcements, and other necessary elements.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop criteria for inclusion in FIT Pools, ensuring alignment with organizational needs, diversity objectives and rules and regulations.
• Work in close collaboration and coordination with the Global Acquisition Talent Branch (HRMTA) and provide advice to managers and employees on HR-related issues, understanding their needs and ensuring that HR policies, procedures, systems and tools are available and correctly applied to support them.
• Coordinate activities for the functional External Recruitments, Limited Fixed Term (LFT) recruitments, and the FIT Pool.
• Engage stakeholders effectively, manage information flow, and provide recommendations for contract modalities, selection methods, and assessments.
• Prepare timely analyses and provide recommendations that feed into decision making around contract modalities, selection methods and assessments; create lessons learned and recommendations for future improvements.
• Work closely with Country Offices and FIT Pool team to mitigate issues and provide solutions.
• Provide guidance and support to hiring managers on workforce planning, position classification, and recruitment policies and procedures.
• Cultivate positive relationships with hiring managers, selection panels, and other stakeholders involved in the recruitment processes.
• Review FIT Pool roster CVs and propose suitable profiles to hiring managers, emphasizing gender and geographical diversity. Continuously assess the size of the talent pool to promptly identify and address any requirements for replenishment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• At least 5 years of experience in recruitment, project management, and HR operations.
• University degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Project management experience, including planning, implementation, and monitoring.

DESIRED SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated experience in efficiently managing the entire recruitment cycle, from initial candidate evaluation and screening to conducting interviews and executing effective selection strategies.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with stakeholders, provide advice, and facilitate clear and accurate information flow.
• Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changing priorities, handle multiple tasks, and adjust strategies as per organizational needs and dynamics.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to establish rapport, build relationships, and effectively engage with individuals at all levels within the organization.
• Strong problem-solving skills to analyze complex situations, identify solutions, and make recommendations for improvements in recruitment processes and talent acquisition.
• Customer-centric approach to understand the needs of managers and employees, provide appropriate support and guidance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality HR services.
• Experience managing rosters is highly desirable.
• Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or Portuguese (a WFP working language) is an asset.

WFP has a zero-tolerance approach to conduct such as fraud, sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority and discrimination. All selected candidates will be expected to adhere to WFP’s standards of conduct and will therefore undergo rigorous background verification internally or through third parties. Selected candidates will also be required to provide additional information as part of the verification exercise.
