Communication Specialist
Scope and Objectives
Kaizen, A Tetra Tech Company is seeking a Communications Specialist to support the USAID/Jordan Enhancing School Management and Planning (ESMP) Project. The ESMP Project objective is to develop sustainable system and process improvements related to school planning, design, construction, and maintenance, and enhance the staff capabilities within Jordan’s Ministries of Education (MOE) and Public Works and Housing (MPWH) to improve the school management and planning process, and the quality of school environments in Jordan. The scope of this project is to provide assessment expertise, technical assistance, capacity building, collaboration facilitation, and training to MOE, MPWH, targeted stakeholders, and counterparts engaged in school management and planning to improve performance and sustain these improvements.
Kaizen will hire a Communications Specialist with the following key responsibilities and required qualifications for the full-time position.
This position is located in Amman, Jordan.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the Communications Specialist:
Responsibilities:
- Draft, coordinate, edit, and/or revise project deliverables and other technical content produced by ESMP technical staff to deliver high-quality documents in terms of grammar, spelling, clarity, and formatting.
- Manage internal and external communications (memos, newsletters, success stories, impact stories, etc.).
- Provide copy-editing support and translation support as needed to ESMP technical experts and administrative staff to support overall project objectives.
- Support the editing and formatting of all ESMP communication materials.
- Assist in the communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership.
- Develop training materials in coordination with technical experts to support project workshops and stakeholder interventions.
- Develop articles, brochures, press kits, videos, social media tools, etc., with an understanding of how these materials affect public perceptions within the context of USAID’s efforts in the region.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in translation, business, management, public administration, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years in communication.
- Experience with USAID projects is preferred.
- Technical knowledge of government systems preferred.
- Excellent writing ability and experience in developing communication materials.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
