It was founded in 1984 in Birmingham, UK, in response to the devastating famine in the Horn of Africa. Since then, Islamic Relief has grown into a charity that is active worldwide, putting development projects, emergency aid, and rebuilding projects into action in over 28 countries around the world.
Islamic Relief Jordan country office is seeking to hire the following position:
Project Assistant in Alkarak location with the ability to travel to South of Jordan, Amman, and North area areas under the overall guidance of the Health Project Officer.

Major Responsibilities:
The Project Assistant will be responsible for:
- Represent Islamic Relief Worldwide – Jordan Office.
- Introducing Islamic Relief Worldwide – Jordan Office to stakeholders
- Ensuring well-organized and safe filing for the project’s files and data.
- Make sure that all assessments are entered into the system 100% accurately.
- Conduct home visits for beneficiaries upon request and follow up with beneficiaries for feedback.
- Make analysis including figures, statistics, and reporting as per the project manager’s request
- Responsible to distribute the items in line with donor and Islamic Relief policy.
- Conduct administrative, logistical, and financial duties related to all aspects of project implementation.
- Maintain an effective communication system and ensure information flow between project and relevant parties.
- Responsible for beneficiaries’ files, registration, and organization of workflow.
- Support the project team to reach targeted beneficiaries.
- Submit weekly, and monthly reports as requested.
- Ability to manage financial and cash requirements for the project.
- Responsible for supervising projects in progress and ensuring that all issues related to the projects are clarified and completed to avoid confusion and interruption during the execution of projects.
- Keep track of all activities, and ensure that all activities are in line with plans, in order to meet up with deadlines.
- To ensure the accuracy of information provided to the manager.
- Ability to write quality reports and submit them on time
- To participate in sectorial working group meetings.
- Establish a network with other NGOs and CBOs.
- Proficiency in computer skills is highly required especially MS. Word and Excel.
- Ability to manage relationships with other stakeholders and perform high-quality mobilization activities such as but not limited to coordination with CBOs for medical days.
- Take-in responsibility of other team members if unavailable
- Fulfil any other tasks appointed by the project officer.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE
Technical skills and experience:
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proven expertise and understanding of emergency preparedness and response issues with relevant technical competence in emergency needs assessment and implementation.
- Good field experience in emergency and development programme management, preferably with non-government organizations.
Core humanitarian competencies:
- Understanding of humanitarian contexts and principles:
- Good understanding of humanitarian issues, with experience of/or ability to work directly with local NGOs or communities.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field of knowledge preferably medical background (Pharmacy, nursing, business administration, sociology.. etc)
- Minimum one-year professional experience preferably in NGOs, iNGOs, or any medical institutions.
Languages:
- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic
- Very good spoken and written English
