Job Description

Sending and following up with the entitled station on the pending shipments for Express, Domestic, and Freight.

Auditing the contracts proposed for the clients to assure the validity of them before applying them on the system.

Reflect (apply) the contract rates on Aramex system to enable it to calculate automatically.

Issuing the monthly/bi-weekly/weekly/daily invoices of all the clients on timely basis.

Matching the accounting software figures with billing systems figures.

Any other activities related to invoicing.

Legal Counsel

Main role is to act as business partner to the management and stakeholders of the GCC (“Region”), delivering effective and practical legal advice, direction and documentation to the GCC Regional Legal Director and management in relation to contracts, customers or projects within the Region, in addition to providing leadership and expertise in legal matters to the Aramex subsidiaries to ensure compliance with the company’s wide legal governance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the GCC Regional Legal Director in acting as a business partner to management and stakeholders within the Region.
  2. Litigation: own, manage and report to the Regional Legal Director and regional management all existing of litigation and/or threatened claims and all related elements including direction, risks, cost, mitigation strategy and lessons learned, etc.
  3. Provide effective and timely legal advice on various matters related to business including commercial, operational, employment and financial matters.
  4. Build and share knowledge within the Region.

Job Description

  1. Manage the legal function in relation to all business activities within the Region under supervision of the GCC Regional Legal Director and in coordination and collaboration with the Regional CEO.
  2. Raise legal and regulatory considerations at an early stage, and set realistic expectations for timelines and costs, while also providing practical solutions.
  3. Plan, manage and address legal and compliance risk related to regional projects.
  4. Assist business to prevent, navigate, and resolve complex legal issues.
  5. Report to the GCC Regional Legal Director and Region’s stakeholders, on regular basis or as needed, any updates on applicable laws and regulations that could possibly have an impact on the business.
  6. Provide transactional corporate legal support.
  7. Advise, review and negotiate commercial contract matters, which includes input on risk assessment, alignment with the company’s policies.
  8. Manage communication and negotiations with several Postal Authorities and other regulatory bodies and associations in the designated geography in relation to licensing and regulatory laws affecting core business of the company.
  9. Manage and support continuous matters by way of research and analysis of relevant laws, argument development, evidence collection, and legal representation, and draft effective and practical legal opinions accordingly. Maintain up-to-date record of all litigation cases and generate regular status reports.
  10. Provide legal and compliance assessment related to new products, services, or initiatives.
  11. Effectively manage the relationship with external lawyers in the Region. This includes reporting to the GCC Regional Legal Director on all legal expenses in the Region, ensuring optimization and cost efficiency, and regularly negotiate and update retainer agreements with external lawyers as agreed and approved by the GCC Regional Legal Director.
  12. Build relationships with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  1. Education and Certification: must have a law degree from an accredited law school and must be licensed to practice law in the state or jurisdiction where they work. A master’s degree in law from the UK, the US, Canada, France or Australia is a plus.
  2. Experience: minimum of 5 years’ PQE experience practicing law in a commercial or corporate setting, preferably with experience in the transportation and logistics industry or sector.
  3. Legal Knowledge: in-depth knowledge of laws and regulations of the Region related to commercial transactions, including contract law, corporate law, intellectual property law, employment law, and other related areas.
  4. Communication and Negotiation Skills: must have strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively advise clients, negotiate contracts, and resolve disputes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
  5. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify legal issues, evaluate risks, and provide effective legal solutions to clients. Approachable, team player, detail and results orients
  6. Business Acumen: good understanding of business and industry practices and should be able to provide legal advice that is aligned with the business objectives of internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Attention to Detail: must have strong attention to detail to review and analyze legal documents, contracts, and other legal material.
  8. Ethical Standards: must adhere to high ethical standards and uphold the confidentiality of company and client information.

  • Initiate telephone calls with the customers in order to gather initial information about location/address and preferred timing for shipment delivery.
  • Answer customers’ incoming calls to acquire locations for personalized shipments.
  • Manage customers’ expectation in the most professional customer-centric manner.
  • Provide tailored customer service and respond to the needs of each customer as service/deliveries are personalized per customer. Ensure Customers’ Satisfaction by providing the best customer centric experience them.

  • Work closely with stakeholders on:
    • Designing and reviewing the design of Aramex IT Governance Framework as per COBIT2019 Framework Guidelines.
