Overview
WADI for Sustainable Ecosystems Development is a local NGO established in December 2018. The vision of WADI is "Healthy Watersheds Managed by Resilient Communities", and its mission is to restore forests and rangelands for climate resilience, community livelihoods, and long-term water security".
WADI is seeking a highly motivated Project Coordinator to join our team and support the successful implementation of the “Water Replenishment Through Watershed Management in Jordan” project within the allocated time and resources. As the project coordinator, you will support the project team to ensure the effective and timely completion of project activities in accordance with WADI procedures.
Terms of Reference
- Plan, direct, and organize activities of the project in coordination with WADI management team, ensuring the accomplishment of goals and objectives within a specified time frame, funding parameters, project aims, and WADI rules and standards. Provide technical, operational, financial, and managerial oversight of project activities in collaboration with WADI management.
- Coordinate activities with relevant stakeholders to ensure continuity of operations and efficient performance of project personnel and workers.
- Coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports as agreed upon.
- In consultation with WADI management team, coordinate and monitor tendering and contract preparation, as well as budget control of all project components.
- Cultivate robust collaboration and communication with the project team, community, relevant authorities, and stakeholders to ensure the seamless completion of all project components in alignment with agreements, project targets and WADI planning and procedures.
- Collect and apply appropriate lessons learned and best practices to current projects, and ensure these lessons learned are proactively shared with supervisor, and other team members to enhance future project development processes.
- Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to supervisor.
- Participate in communication activities by regularly collecting pictures and stories related to project activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor in coordination with the executive director.
Knowledge, Experience, and Minimum Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Preferably resides in Madaba governorate.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, agricultural sciences, water engineering, or related field.
- Experience in Volumetric Water Benefit Accounting is preferred.
- Experience in working on community based environmental projects.
- Experience in managing multicultural teams.
- Arabic and English fluency (written and spoken).
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Previous experience working with NGOs is preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and GIS software.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
