Human Resources Officer – Syria and Jordan Response Programmes/ Based in Amman, Jordan (National Contract)

Background

We are seeking to strengthen our team and we are currently seeking an enthusiastic Human Resources Officer to join our dynamic team of professionals dedicated to helping children and their families

Objective of the job

Under the direct supervision of the HR Manager, the Human Resources (HR) Officer takes care of the execution of human resources day to day running of Syria and Jordan Country Programme office and act as a focal person providing key support on all HR functions. The HR Officer will assist in the human resources activities including recruitment and On-borading, personnel files, staff benefits and insurance, performance management and payroll.

Position in the organisation

The HR Officer reports to HR Manager and collaborates regularly with operation and program teams, also provides functional support to volunteer(s) and/or service providers.

In addition to the result areas below, the HR Officer remains flexible to take on different assignments in support of the overall country office operations

  1. Recruitment and On-boarding

In collaboration and support from the HR Manager, the HR Officer will proceed the following

  • Coordinate recruitment requests and follow the War Child policy in regard of hiring procedures.
  • Prepare and announce job advertisements in appropriate channels and ensure wide and appropriate distribution.
  • Receive and process applications (screening, sifting and long/short listing).
  • Maintain and build recruitment database
  • Organize interviews and test and follow through the hiring procedures in line with the War Child policy
  • Prepare and attend interviews as necessary
  • Conduct all necessary background checks in line with the War Child policy.
  • Organize the administrative follow-up of recruitment operations: archiving and filing of recruitment files.
  • Organizes and coordinates for new employees introduction programs.
  1. Implement personnel administration and HR policy.
  • Takes care of processing changes in the workforce and managing personnel files and ensures personnel administration is in order and up-to-date.
  • Correctly apply laws and regulations and HR policy.
  • Takes care of carrying out administrative and organizational work for several HR tasks related to payroll administration, social security related changes and contract management.
  • Takes care of the management of the various HR systems and fulfills the role of professional.
  • Liaise with the health provider to ensure proper admistration and resolve any issues with insurance services
  • Takes care of providing the correct data for the annual audit and annual report.
  • Maintain an overview of staff leave days, including annual leave, sick leave, etc.
  • Follow on monthly timesheets submission.
  • Support on managing of staff exit process documentation
  1. Providing information and maintaining contacts
  • Acts as a point of contact for personnel with the various HR systems and ensures the correct functioning of the systems.
  • Answer questions from managers and employees on all kinds of personnel matters such as, employment regulation, performance and recruitment, etc.
  • Takes care of the management of the various HR systems. Fulfills the professional role for the various HR systems towards managers andemployees.
  • Acts as a point of contact for relevant internal and external relations.
  • Acts as a point of contact for all HR related for partners and CBOs, and ensure a proper documentation for all HR functions

Knowledge and Experience:

  • University degree in a relevant field.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience working in related field, including recruitment, performance management, compensation, training and development and HR administration.
  • Previous experience working with an international NGO.
  • Oral and written expression skills in both Arabic and English.

Contract

The duration of the contract is for one year with the intention to extend depending on performance and fund availability.

Job Location

Amman, Jordan. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Jordan.
