Senior Commercial Manager

Are you ready to take the next big step in your hospitality career? HotelShop is currently looking for a talented and dynamic Travel Industry Senior Commercial Manager who shares our passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything he/she does!

The Pricing team combines strategy, operations, and analytics specialists to help craft the way HotelShop offers competitive and differentiated promotions on conventional lodging, vacation rentals, transport, and package products across each of its retail brands.

We are looking for a fast-learner with high-level of sales acumen to join the team as a Senior Commercial Manager , with a focus on the commercial management of our standalone and package pricing programs including hotel stays and flight bookings. In this role, you will use critical thinking, commercial acumen, research and analysis skills and collaborate with leaders across HotelShop teams to make recommendations on promotions and pricing, based on outstanding insight into the profitability and customer impact of these programs.

What you will do:

  • Think big and small – shape and drive the direction of HotelShop pricing and promotional offering for lodging, transport and multi-item trips, based on commercial and analytical acumen and an understanding of our brand strategies and marketplace economics.
  • Manage the economics of our pricing programs and communicate clearly the results and forecasted impacts to the relevant shareholders.
  • Ensure integration of our pricing actions in the finance framework
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support agile decision making
  • Become subject matter expert in pricing and promotions
  • Understand customer impact of different levers and the competitive environment in travel
  • Find opportunities to simplify and improve our offering and drive their implementation
  • Deliver critical initiatives, working closely with partners across marketing, product and suppliers.
  • Communicate findings in compelling presentations to senior management
  • Manage a team and lead their operations and ensure achieving monthly sales goals and budgets.

Who you are:

  • At least 6 years of work experience in sales with a travel industry background as a plus.
  • Specific experience in online travel, retail pricing is a strong plus
  • Experience of leading multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder projects and teams
  • Academic background (MSc or equivalent preferred) in a business and/or quantitative subject area
  • Proficient in MS Excel/PowerPoint
  • Logical and structured thinker, able to simplify sophisticated business problems, and communicate complex concepts/processes concisely and clearly
  • Goal oriented and keen on acquiring new clients and suppliers.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Comfortable working through uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Positive attitude and strong team spirit
  • Eye for business, desire to learn, and bias to action
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.
