Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Financial Assistant. As a Financial Assistant, you will provide crucial support to the finance department, assisting with various financial tasks and ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include managing financial records, processing invoices and payments, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports. The ideal candidate should possess strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial principles and processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, receipts, and general ledger entries.
  2. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, verify expense claims, and prepare payment requests. Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and assist with collections when necessary.
  3. Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between financial records and bank statements. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
  4. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting for management and regulatory compliance.
  5. Budget Monitoring: Support the finance team in monitoring budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying any deviations. Provide analysis and recommendations to help control costs and improve financial performance.
  6. Financial Analysis: Assist with financial analysis projects, such as profitability analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis. Prepare and present findings to support decision-making processes.
  7. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain proper documentation and assist with internal and external audits as necessary.
  8. Financial System Support: Collaborate with the finance team to maintain and optimize financial systems, including accounting software and reporting tools. Provide user support and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  9. Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues across departments, providing financial information and support when required.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficient and effective financial practices. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a financial role or internship.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and financial software applications.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
