Job Summary
The Senior Logistics Officer is overall responsible for ensuring all logistics operations are properly executed and reported in the area of operation. He/She will be responsible and accountable for executing and providing technical oversight in the field and support Logistics Manager of the management of the Warehouse, Assets, GIK, also support procurement team by performing all kind of procurement in the field, and other assigned activities in compliance with IMC, country and donor procedures, rules and regulations. Keeps close contact with the management for guidance and technical support.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Supports smooth implementation of IMC programs and operations, through participation in planning of procurement/GIK deliveries and commodities dispatches to distribution, as well as effective coordination of other logistics activities in the field.
- Provide Logistical support to all Programs in compliance with IMC’s standard logistics procedures. And enhances business coordination among the logistics, program, and finance departments.
- Represents positively International Medical Corps to government officials, community representatives, NGO Forums, partners and vendors in a positive and professional manner, and support timely data collection and submission of logistics reports to donors.
- In coordination with the Logistics manager, He/She will be responsible to manage the logistics activities and providing technical oversight, input, direction, and supervision to logistics officers & assistants to ensure effective and timely support to projects implementation.
- Assist Logistics manager for the management of, assets, GIK reporting, warehousing etc. in line with applicable procedures, SOPs, and guidelines.
- Oversee the sites, apartments handover, receiving and renovation of new sites in Amman and urban sites.
- He/She will be responsible of managing the lease agreements, and follow up with the project managers, Management and lawyer to ensure that all lease agreement are renewed or terminated on the right time and in line with local law and IMC manual.
- He/She will be responsible for managing the IMC account with the telecommunication company and ensuring that all phone lines are officially registered and subjected to our tariff.
- Managing the donation and GIK and coordinate with program team that donations are approved and released according IMC manual and donors guidelines.
- In collaboration with the Asset controller and sites focal points, ensures that Asset /inventory List is up to date and all assets and attractive items are properly recorded, assigned to a custodian, tracked, verified maintained and reported until the final disposal according to IMC Asset manual and applicable donor regulations.
- Effective coordination of the supply and receiving of goods and services (support the programs and procurement teams)
- Oversee the perform the Market survey and Logistics assessment when its required.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse to ensure that all the required documents (GIO, Waybill and releases…) are available upon delivery and for permissions purposes.
- Supporting the WH team in the regular spot check, annual stock count and WH inspection
- Assist procurement team by performing all type of procurement and ensures procurement activities are conducted at the in line with applicable policies, procedures, SOPs and guidelines
- Ensures that transactions are documented, stored and accessible as per standard procedures, and audit trail is in place.
- Ensure all procurement documentation along with its audit trail is submitted correctly to the finance department.
- Responsible for assigned activities compliance with IMC policies and procedures and applicable donor regulations and local laws.
- Supports assessment and evaluation of risks impacting Logistics and ensures action plans are in place to mitigate, minimize or remove risks impact.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics & Supply chain, Business Administration, Engineering or any other related field.
- Proficient in computer applications, especially with MS Word & Excel
- Five years or more of relevant experience in logistics & supply chain. minimum three years of working in humanitarian organizations
- Excellent level of written and spoken English.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with analytic approach.
- Ability to work within a team structure or in isolation, flexible, and can cope with stressful workloads and working with limited resources.
