ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
This job is based in WFP Addis Ababa Office. The Job holder report to Head of IT Unit or the designate.
JOB PURPOSE
To deliver standard business support processes for a specific professional area of work, to facilitate effective service delivery.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
1. Maintain the IT/Electrical inventory database (Global Equipment Management system, GEMS) and ensure
that all equipment is labeled and recorded in GEMS with all necessary and accurate information
according to the WFP rules and regulations.
2. Monitor the movement of IT/Electrical equipment and maintain records accordingly.
3. Physical labelling of equipment and carrying out spot checks at designated store rooms and warehouses.
4. Carry out reconciliation in order to maintain data integrity in the database.
5. Report lost damaged or unserviceable property and organize documents to be presented to the Administration Associate
6. Perform Other duties as required
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education.
Experience: Three or more years of experience in general administrative work.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
• Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to communicate well with peers and interact with other units for information sharing.
• Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals.
• Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention.
• Ability to offer guidance or basic on-the-job training to more junior staff.
