JOB PURPOSE
JOB TITLE: Assistant Storekeeper (Spare parts)
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Service Contract
LEVEL: SC 3
SALARY: Salary starts from AED 11,745.73 per month (all-inclusive) plus medical insurance
UNIT/DIVISION: Global Fleet
DUTY STATION (City, Country): Dubai, UAE
DURATION: 12 Months
The selected incumbent will report to the Spare Parts Manager and will be expected to work closely with other Global Fleet colleagues in the Dubai office. The Assistant Storekeeper will be responsible for maintaining safety standards in all stores and should report areas where improvement is needed. The incumbent will also ensure that the barcode scanner is fully operational and effectively used for receiving/issuing spare parts and while executing physical inventories. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing all necessary documents such as non-commercial invoices, packing lists, handover forms, etc. for executing logistics operations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Support receipt/dispatch commodities including transshipment (truck to truck) against official approved documentation (e.g. waybills and/or delivery notes) ensuring accuracy in physical count of commodities including the quality in compliance with the established standards.
- Prepare and verify warehouse and transport documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records, to ensure immediate reporting on commodity movements in line with the corporate requirements.
- Support daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks in compliance with the warehouse management requirements.
- Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of the commodities received/dispatched and handled and refer to the supervisor for appropriate action.
- Support implementation of appropriate measures to safeguard commodities to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in line with WFP established procedures and authorization received from the supervisor.
- Monitor condition of the warehouse and commodities and take appropriate actions to support efficient warehouse space-utilization and well-organized commodity storage following WFP warehouse standards.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education.
Experience: Three or more years of experience in storekeeping, preferably motor vehicle spare parts.
Language: Working knowledge (proficiency/FAO level C) of English.
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS (As required by the Hiring Manager)
Essential:
- Proven ability to use Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proven ability to use inventory management software.
- UAE forklift driving license
Desirable:
- Automotive technical course or training
- Ability to use spare parts catalogue
- Valid UAE light vehicle driving license
