We are looking for a Sales Accounts Engineer to join our team and continue this tradition. The successful candidate is keen on innovation and technology and shall be responsible for fostering growth and generating sales for the company’s products and services.

Reporting to the Sales Director, the sought individual will play a key role in accelerating the organization’s sales performance, maximizing revenue and promoting Astoria’s brand.

The ideal candidate shall be a proactive leader with high levels of energy and persistence focused on sales achievement, business development and customer relationship initiatives.

Responsibilities and Objectives

  • Demonstrate effective leadership qualities in delivering the execution of the sales plan for the assigned area and customer base, based on market opportunities consistent with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Meet or exceed the individual and sales team’s performance targets in accordance with established KPIs and sales targets
  • Utilizing the CRM system, perform regular reporting for management review
  • Work with the project, product development and marketing teams to communicate and interpret customer requirements, develop value propositions, and price negotiations strategy, and to deliver solution proposals with the end-goal of sales in mind
  • Able to listen carefully, think critically and suggest improvements to customer pain points and jobs-to-be-done, so as to gain customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements
  • Able to provide project implementation support to customers such as high-level project management and support

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Candidate shall hold a Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Computing); or is with a non-technical Diploma or Degree but to be able to demonstrate a strong grasp of relevant technical topics and the ability to pick up very fast (company’s assessments may be performed)
  • Ideally with working experience within the Oil & Gas/Chemical/Petrochemical/Refinery industry or in consulting services to these sectors
  • Min 3 years of sales experience in a relevant field
  • Prior working experience in using CRM systems for regular reporting
  • Resourceful and organized, with strong people, and time-management skills
  • Ability to penetrate new markets, quickly comprehend and explain complex engineering concepts in simple and effective terms
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills exhibiting commercial astuteness and thriving to achieve sales outcomes and high-performance expectations
  • Genuine customer commitment and ability to build sound relationships at all levels of the business, considering a long-term perspective in understanding customer needs
  • Strong customer service ethic and attention to detail
  • Candidate preferably has already lived in the UAE for the last 5 years and currently living in Abu Dhabi
  • Proficiency in English is essential, and proficiency in Arabic would be an advantage
  • Candidates in possession of a vehicle and a valid UAE driving license will be given priority as there will be frequent travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. May be required to travel to other GCC countries occasionally to support to any potential projects which could require them being away from UAE on occasions for few days and others for few weeks
