Software Project Manager

Job Description

The Project Manager manages key client projects. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.

Specific project manager responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation and delivering every project on time within budget and scope.

To be a successful candidate, you will need to have proven experience in project management and the ability to lead project teams of various sizes. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a huge advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Creating long- and short- terms plans, including setting targets for milestone, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources.
  • Defining resource requirements and managing resource availability and allocation – both internal and third party.
  • Outlining a budget based on requirements and tracking costs to deliver project on budget.
  • Managing the relationship and communication with the client and all stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered to their satisfaction.
  • Serving as point of contact for teams when multiple unites are assigned to the same project to endure team actions remain in synergy.
  • carry out planning – this will include setting goals and objectives, defining roles and producing schedules and timelines for tasks – in accordance with the needs of your client. Some tools, such as Gantt charts, can be used to create a visual project plan.
  • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management and related experience.
  • Great educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering for technical project managers Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Proven working experience as a project administrator in the information technology sector.
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
  • Understanding of the project management institute (PMI) Framework
  • Ability to make important decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to delegate effectively.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
  • Excellent analytical skills
