Teacher and Education Coordinator- STEAM Education
Job Overview
We are currently looking for experienced STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) teachers to join our team to provide STEAM camps and programs. This position requires love, patience, and respect for children. The STEAM teachers coordinate the program and ensure the program environment is a safe space for children to participate. STEAM teachers report directly to the Program Coordinator. STEAM teachers will serve as a role model for the Academy’s value and mission. The role will include the supervision and mentoring of part-time instructors from high-school to post-secondary students and graduates. This is a fully in-person position taking place at our state of the art facility.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced in classroom management
- Experienced in teaching subjects such as coding, robotics, engineering and sciences in general.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills and familiar with the global standard Curriculums (inquiry-based, Cambridge, IB, AP, etc.)
- Comfortable communicating with parents, students, and co-workers
- Able to design and implement fun, exciting, and high-impact lessons and experiences with a focus on hands-on learning.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead small groups of students through curriculum-guided activities and programs
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
- Supervise the classroom, help the children think creatively, to solve problems independently and respect themselves and others
- Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
- Work in a team to develop hands-on projects and lessons relating to topics in science, technology, engineering, arts and math
- Act as the team “expert” in the middle and high school curriculum
- Review and revise existing programs and lesson to align with current curriculum
- Lead and guide a group of instructors, sharing best teaching practices and curriculum knowledge
- Help create new projects and lesson plans
- Instruct programs and activities
Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
- Experience with STEM/STEAM programming
- Teachers pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position
- Demonstrated experience of leadership skills and a high level of classroom management as well as conflict resolution skills
- Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities
- Understanding of child and youth engagement techniques
- Demonstrates knowledge/understanding of diversity
Job Requirements:
- Current Teachers certification/designation from British, American or Canadian accreditors.
- Experience create lesson plans linked to curriculum goals
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C or willingness to obtain
- Experience with and passion for building, making, robotics, coding, and/or graphic design are considered an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Job Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Contract length: 2 years renewable
