Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Ship Repair Manager to oversee all aspects of ship repair and new build projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to shipyard operations to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

Plan and manage all ship repair project, from initial assessment and estimation to project planning, execution, and final delivery.
Manage project budgets and timelines to ensure that repair work is completed on time and within budget.
Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and other staff involved in ship repair operations.
Communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure that project requirements are understood and met, and that the repair work is completed to their satisfaction.
Ensure that all ship repair work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards, and that all safety protocols are followed.
Manage inventory and procurement of materials and equipment required for ship repair projects.
Maintain all documentation and records related to ship repair projects, including work orders, project reports, and financial records.
Continuously review and improve ship repair processes to ensure that they are efficient and effective.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval/Marine Technical Engineering (Ship Building) or a related field, as well as several years of experience in ship repair operations. Strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a thorough understanding of safety and quality standards.
At least 7 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a managerial role.
Familiarity with ship design, construction, and project overview.
Strong ability to formulate and implement technical services and forecasts with strategic and technical planning.
Ability to combine marketing, operations, and financial knowledge to achieve organizational goals.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, management, and communication skills.
Extensive knowledge and experience in ship repair and maintenance.
Strong leadership, management, and project management skills.
Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, including permit to work, confined space, and lifesaving rules.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.

Physical Demands:

The Ship Repair Manager may be required to work in a shipyard environment, which may involve working in confined spaces, climbing ladders, and working at heights. The job may also require standing or walking for extended periods of time, and may involve heavy lifting or carrying of equipment or supplies.
