Reports to: Communications Manager, DC
Position Description
United Palestinian Appeal, www.upaconnect.org, is seeking an experienced non-profit professional to serve as Field Communications Officer. Under the direction of the Communications Manager (DC), the Field Communications Officer will engage the people UPA serves, making their stories and the impact of our programming come to life for the service of donor engagement and reporting. Specifically, the position will coach programs staff on executing beneficiary interviews and compiling quality case studies and will drive the photography and videography of UPA’s work. The Field Communications Officer will also be responsible for conducting interviews and taking photos and videos for key communications initiatives. This position will act as the liaison between the Donor Engagement Team, field staff, and professional photographers and videographers and will require travel around UPA’s areas of operation.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in non-profit organizations, particularly in the area of communications.
- Undergraduate degree in related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills and story-telling experience.
- Highly organized, proven coordination skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive, strong time management skills and proven success meeting deadlines.
- Comfort working across time zones (Europe & US).
- Speaking and writing fluency in Arabic and English is a must.
- Excellent eye for design, photography, and videography.
- Experience with social media.
- Knowledge of Palestinian culture, history, and narrative.
- Ability to travel around Jordan and to Lebanon, West Bank, Gaza, and the US.
