EXTERNAL REPRESENTATION AND COMMUNICATIONS:
Interpersonal contact is regular and varied – both oral and written. The role involves negotiation, influencing skills, and representation of SC Jordan’s position with senior level representatives including governmental level decision makers, donors, and the wider global SC community. This leadership role will have a significant impact on the reputation and performance of the organization.

Role Purpose:
The Protection Projects Manager will provide techncial and strategic oversight Save the Children Projects in the protection sector. S/he must have the capacity to manage and track results in projects’ components and coordinate activities internally and externally. S/he will support in building the capacity of partners and the government to establish new or strengthen existing child protection and case management responses for children who are vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, neglect, and violence. S/he will work to transform the social and cultural norms that impacts girls and boys especially as they relate to child labor and child marriage through systems’ strengthening and community based approaches. The Protection Projects Manager provides leadership and managerial oversight for the administrative, programmatic, technical, research and operational aspects of the programme.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Overall Implementation:
- Provide leadership in the oversight of the SC Jordan program portfolio to ensure coordinated implementation, enhanced resource optimization, cross program learning, and adaptive management within the protection field, including child marriage and child labour programming
- Keep abreast of the objectives and status of projects, and ensure project teams have timely access to the right information, knowledge, tools, and systems to adequately implement activities.
- Responsively troubleshoot, make timely decisions, and enhance the decision-making capacity of field staff to ensure that implementation bottlenecks are consistently and adequately addressed in the field.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to coordinate of ways-of-working between programs, finance, and support staff (such as kick-off/closeout workshops, quarterly reviews, learning meetings, etc.)
- Represent SC Jordan at relevant working groups to ensure appropriate and relevant coordination of the implementation of SC’s projects.
- Facilitate sharing and learning across program portfolios, teams, offices, and support teams to incorporate operational learning in program design and management.
- Provide project management support of protection projects whenever the respective program manager is absent, on leave, or when there is a vacancy pending recruitment.
Program/Project Performace and Quality Implementation
- Ensure protection projects adhere to Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding and Gender Programming Policies, Do No Harm principles, and accountability standards.
- Support protection projects to utilize and regularly update essential project implementation tools (Detailed Implementation Plan, Budget Forecast, BvA, Procurement Plan, Work Plan, Staffing Plan, etc.)
- Support PDQ team to ensure projects fulfill Save the Children’s Program Principles according to the SC Global Quality Framework, PMM PRIME, donor requirements, and guide the team to ensure high quality implementation approaches that are consistent with national and global best practices.
- Review and monitor projects plans from start to end of project, ensuring implementation is within time scope and budget.
- Oversee deployment of field staff, their adherence to SC program standards, and provide periodic checks in projects sites.
- Oversee SC’s community accountability and response mechanism (CARM) are operational, including anti-fraud and safeguarding measures embedded in program design/implementation.
- Collaborate with PDQ Director,Technical Advisors and the MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) Department to ensure safe data collection is implemented for all activities and in coordination with UNHCR.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A post-graduate degree in Social Science or related subjects.
- At least 5-7 years’ experience in a project management role in an international NGO or similar organization, with extensive experience in a refugee setting;
- Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically;
- Good technical and operational knowledge of policy and practice in the fields of Child Protection, Education, Health, Livelihoods
- High-level communication and people skills;
- Strong leadership and negotiations skills demonstrated by the ability to bring together a multi-disciplinary teams with diverse backgrounds and educational levels;
- Proven ability to maintain oversight of all elements of program implementation and operational support
- Experience of working with and building the capacity of implementing teams
- Ability to design, roll out and maintain MEAL tools and frameworks;
- Highly developed diplomacy and interpersonal skills;
- Commitment to the values and principles of Save the Children
- Fluent in English writing and communication skills
