Digital Content Analyst

GENERAL FUNCTION

Digital Content Analyst for the “USAID Strengthening Civil Society and Media Systems Activity (Sawt)”. The Digital Content Analyst is the Sawt storyteller-in-chief and web editor-in-chief. The ideal candidate will work with various members of Sawt team to distill smart insights and identify inspiring stories that illustrate our impact. Reporting to the Communications Specialist, the Digital Content Analyst will propose, draft and edit a wide range of digital material, including success stories, research summaries, e-newsletters and marketing materials. This position is responsible for maintaining Sawt website, ensuring sound navigation and elegant page layouts based on content. The ability to create content in multi-media formats, such as videos and podcasts, is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are listed below; other duties may be assigned.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop digital content that demonstrates an understanding of audience behavior, program differentiators, and marketing goals.

• Determine Sawt website content mix to maximize organic traffic, audience engagement, industry influence, and overall business outcomes.

• Maintain awareness of hot topics through regular collaboration with program teams, monitoring of external industry leaders, and inquiries with Internews subject matter experts.

• Identify stories and insights from across the organization that illustrate key themes and issues Internews seeks to highlight externally.

• Draft and edit a wide range of content for Sawt website and other digital properties, from impact stories to digestible research summaries.

• Liaise with the Impact Team and feed into Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) plans with digital audience analytics.

• Share recommendations on enhancing metrics through changes in campaigns, based on how followers responded.

• Analyze social media posts’ metrics and assess the success of the social media campaigns produced by Sawt.

• Manage Sawt’s website content and user experience daily, including laying out content in web-friendly formats.

• Draft and edit communications, from newsletters to event invitations.

• Draft and edit marketing collateral, from one-pagers to brochures.

• Manage Sawt's web vendor.

• Any other related duties assigned by the supervisor to ensure program success.

• In all duties, an understanding of and demonstrated commitment to upholding Internews' Core Values.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing and/or Analytics, Communications, Information Technology or any related field.

Experience

• 1-5 years of experience in writing, marketing, content development and website maintenance.

• Understanding and proficiency in SEO and Funnel Marketing.

• Experience with digital platform tools such as Constant Contact, MailChimp, MyEmma, and CRM systems.

• Comfort using and maintaining CMS websites, including Admin level knowledge of WordPress.

Skills

• Outstanding writing and editing skills.

• Extraordinary attention to detail.

• Professional-level fluency in Arabic and English.

• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff.

This role is based in Jordan. Applicants should have permission to work and reside in Jordan without Internews sponsorship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of audience analytics and/or experience with assessing campaigns and/or social media posts online preferred.

• Experience with web and print design (Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.

• Experience creating short form videos and podcasts a plus.
