JOB PURPOSE
The Commercial Analyst will provide support to the company by providing numerical data which will help with key decision-making that will drive improved sales and profit performance across Rapid Access and provide an understanding of current and future market drivers.
The Commercial Analyst will support the Senior Financial Analyst function to drive revenue and market share. The role holder will provide market insight and recommendation for positive change, not simply data analytics.
The Commercial Analyst role will provide analytical and reporting support to the organisation including data collection and analysis to help track key projects or initiatives within Rapid Access and in the region.
Key priorities will be to input, maintain, and analyse sales, market and project data in order to provide insight for the senior management, the sales team and for commercial reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Analysis
- Work collaboratively with business partners to understand the businesses. Promote a culture of data-driven decision making and proactively inform stakeholders on key trends and performance indicators
- Integrate with the key business departments in order to collect data for the production of company KPI's
- Exploit all available data within the business to present information consistently and clearly, and to make insights visible across the organisation
- Develop, undertake and deliver strategic consumer analysis across the existing customer portfolio and provide outputs in terms of key financial metrics
Market and Competitive Analysis
- Collection, collation and analysis of market and business data provide detailed commercial analysis used for decision making
- Support the sales and marketing team to analyse market data to provide reports including recommendations
- Use market and business data to highlight emerging patterns and draw conclusions
- Completing detailed analysis of trading, marketing performance and competitor trends
- Researching and documenting information
- Assisting with providing information for business justification for new product and service opportunities
Reporting
- Build and manage reporting and analysis templates for reporting purposes
- Develop automated reports and dashboards within analytics platform where appropriate
- Help to create reporting frameworks to support monitoring of specific internal and external commercial projects
- Creating monthly portfolio and account reports for the Sales and Marketing Director and senior management with insightful analysis and commentary
- Weekly and monthly sales reporting
Pipelining and Forecasting
- Analysing portfolio and account status to be able to accurately forecast sales, revenue targets and other performance metrics
- Interrogate pipeline of opportunities disclosed by sales team and provide month report with analysis of findings and recommendations

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
The chosen candidate will meet ALL the essential criteria below:
ESSENTIAL
- Degree or equivalent – ideally in Mathematics, Economics or Business or related subject
- Recent graduate ideally with some experience in an analytical role
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills and with the ability to draw conclusions from data
- Ability to deliver and analyse quantitative research e.g. customer surveys
- Ability to deliver and analyse qualitative consumer and market research materials, e.g. industry reports
- Proven ability to synthesise large data sets from various tools to extract actionable insights
- Scientific and inquisitive mind-set with the ability to interrogate data, solve problems and make recommendations
- Flexibility and willingness to take on various aspects of marketing and forecasting analysis
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills with confidence in communication at all levels of the business
- Excellent presentation skills
- High level of proficiency using Excel and basic statistical techniques

- Experience within a technical environment
