JOB PURPOSE
To provide support to policy and programme activities in the areas of nutrition and social protection that effectively support WFP efforts to upscale nutrition with particularly focus on BISP NASHONUMA and Social safety net projects.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
1. Contribute towards the development of a limited number of projects, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.
2. Support in implementing and strengthening the quality of programme; Prevention of Stunting— BISP Nashonuma through a Conditional Cash transfer Programme, Prevention and Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM, Prevention of micronutrients deficiencies through food fortification initiatives
3. Liaise with POs nutrition team/ implementing partners to monitor ongoing nutrition projects, ensuring effective collaboration, timeliness, and efficiency, and highlight potential risks to the project delivery.
4. Support the identification, development, and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working leading to improved food assistance packages.
5. Support the monitoring and evaluation of WFP activities, provide technical analysis, and interpretation.
6. Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
7. Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs, e.g. through project management support of learning initiatives.
8. Guide and supervise more junior staff, acting as a point of referral and supporting them on more complex analysis and questions
9. Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Assist in partnerships with potential stakeholders through the MOUs/agreements for achieving desired objectives of the activities implemented in the area of nutrition , school meals progarmm and social safety net programme
2. Provide active support in coordination with respective district authorities and counterpart.
3. Provide support in designing of the customized training material as per the project requirement, preparation of the training reports.
4. Support in timely and effective utilization of funds for the nutrition programme and prepare funding forecast for the continuation of programmes.
5. Support in preparation and dissemination of timely analytical and periodic reports to donor, Government and other coordinating platforms.
6. Support in development of Annual Performance Plan and Risk Register for Nutrition project and to ensure mid-term and final evaluation reporting against approved plans.
7. Provide project operations support to Nutrition Conditional Cash Transfer Programme to prevent Stunting in Pakistan.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Advanced University Degree/master’s in social sciences, Public health/Nutrition, Project management, development studies public/business administration in any one of these disciplines or equivalent or First University Degree with additional two years of related work experience at professional / managerial level.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum three years of professional/managerial level experience is required in public and/or private sector with provincial/national/ international organization(s) /Govt sectors/demonstrating evidence of implementation of the nutrition specific and sensitive projects specially stunting prevention project, advocacy, supporting governance and policy platforms and nutrition conditional cash transfer programming for improving nutrition.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• Has gained experience in implementing nutrition related programs.
• Has implemented programmes and provided input into designing operations.
• Has provided input into policy discussions and decisions.
LANGUAGE:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Urdu. Knowledge of local language is highly desired.

This job is based in the Provincial Office, Karachi and the job holder will directly report and work under the supervision of Programme Policy Officer Nutrition under the overall guidance of Head of Provincial Office, WFP Sindh.
Job holders are likely to be working under the close support and guidance of a more experienced professional staff member receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed. They are typically involved in programme or policy activities and/or analytical work of limited complexity.
