Role

Cansco, Operations Supervisors are responsible for the performance of Project, Workshop and Supply (Operations) functions within their assigned Cansco Supply Service organization (Business Unit), with the following core responsibilities;

General;

  • Promotes superior safety performance, with visible personal safety leadership.
  • Ensures that CANSCO values and leadership standards are communicated and understood at all levels.
  • Implements and ensures compliance of Business Unit, Business Management System (BMS) within any assigned Service Facilities, and across all operational functions.
  • Supports the development of Business Management System (BMS), through the creation and implementation of facility specific procedures, policies and standards.
  • Monitors operational performance and works with Business Unit Managers, Operations Managers, Supply Managers and other Business Support Department Heads to identify, develop and implement enhancement solutions in people, process (software) and plant (hardware including facilities, equipment, tools and instruments) to support the execution of CANSCO business strategies, whilst maximizing work flow effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Represents the Business Unit in a professional manner both on and off the Job, and maintains confidentiality of Business Unit and Customer business.

Project;

  • Manages Job Order (Project) process, ensuring technical compliance to Job requirements and specifications, whilst maintaining ‘on-time’ and ‘on budget’ delivery.
  • Reports significant deviations from Job Order, Project plans to Business Unit Manager and Supply Manager, proposes suitable corrective actions to mitigate delays or cost overruns, and initiates approved corrective actions.

Workshop;

  • Oversees the planning and coordination of Workshop activities, ensuring Work Order prioritization to meet Job Order (Project) requirements.
  • Reviews and verifies Work Order reporting, to maintain report quality and accuracy. Compiles detailed Technical Reports to support Work Order reporting, and/or Equipment failure reporting, as required.
  • Supervises CANSCO Technician, Competency Program (CAN DO). Directs employee competency schedules in line with Company expectations for Technician development, implements approved program enhancements, is a registered Competence Assessor, and actively develops effective mentorship ability within the Workshop Team.
  • Oversees the implementation and continuous development of Workshop, Work Area setup and tooling that maximizes work flow effectiveness and efficiency, whilst allowing the seamless integration of CANSCO’s Technician, Competency Program (CAN DO).
  • Manages Field Support activities, allocating competent resources, providing remote technical support and communicating updates effectively to all stakeholders.

Supply;

  • Oversees the following local (in-country) Supply functions : Procurement, Inventory, Delivery, Supply Information
  • Reports on Supply performance for critical Supply Lines, identifying areas of non or sub- standard performance, and implementing and tracking suitable Non Conformance (NC) corrective actions to resolve performance.
  • Provides local (in-country) support to Group Supply Department, as required to achieve CANSCO Business aims and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Technical Degree or ‘proven’ technical ability via equivalent industry experience.
  • Five (5) years minimum management or supervision experience within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Two (2) years minimum experience in people training and competence development.
  • Valid Driving License.

  • Well / Pressure Control Equipment (WCE/PCE) Knowledge – Foundation level knowledge of WCE/PCE, with the ability to further develop said knowledge quickly through hands on application.
  • Communication – Command of English spoken and written language skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in either.
  • Leadership – Ability to motivate and effectively lead a team to achieve best in class performance.
  • Project Management – Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Writing – Ability to write detailed technical reports and/or procedures.
  • Problem Solving – Ability to apply an analytical and logical approach to problem solving.
  • Self-Starting – Internally motivated and doesn’t require close supervision to achieve clear objectives.
