Advocacy Trainer for SAWT Staff (Limited Service Contract)
About SAWT Project:
Sawt will create a Virtuous Cycle of Civic Engagement. We will improve community knowledge of their rights and relevant issues through greater access to fact-based and trusted content from online media, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and other civic spaces. We will increase opportunities for citizens to participate in regular constructive civic dialogue through building CSO and citizen advocacy capacity and through support to intersectional CSO coalitions, contributing to increased trust and government accountability. Sawt will build the resilience of partners to operate in a challenging political and legal environment. We will ensure under-represented voices are included, heard, represented fairly, and can safely access and use knowledge resources.
Training Goals:
This training aims to enhance the concept of advocacy for a group of Sawt project team members. The project team will work with civil society organizations (CSOs) that will design and implement advocacy campaigns. Therefore, we seek through this training to build the capabilities of team members to follow up on the work of civil society organizations when designing and implementing advocacy campaigns.

- Plan and implement training on advocacy skills that include, but not limited to.
- Selecting an Advocacy Objective
- Researching Audiences
- Developing and Delivering Advocacy Messages
- Understanding the Decision-Making Process
- Building Alliances
- Making Effective Presentations
- Fundraising for Advocacy
- Improving your Advocacy
- Provide a thorough understanding on methods of implementing and following up community advocacy campaigns.
- Provide methods and tools for measuring the success of implementing advocacy campaigns.
Other tasks required.
- Designing a pre- and post-assessment to measure the level of knowledge after completing the training.
- Providing the necessary stationery for training, including printing any documents related to training.
- Provide Mercy Corps with a final and detailed training report.

- 5 training days, with 5 training hours per day.
- The number of trainees is 13.

Documents to be included when submitting the proposals:
Interested individual must submit the following documents/information to demonstrate their qualifications:
- Proposal:
(i) Explaining why they are the most suitable for the work
(ii) Provide a brief methodology or agenda on how they will approach and conduct the training
- Profile of previous advocacy campaigns that the applicant took part in.
- Financial proposal
- Personal CV including past experience in similar projects and at least 3 references.
Criteria:
- At least 7 years experiences of relevant work in training courses management, facilitating capacity building courses.
- Master’s degree in international development, Anthropology, Law, Mass communication or any other relevant fields of Social Science.
