Project Summary:

The purpose of the “Public Accountability and Justice Strengthening” (PAJ) activity is to support Jordanian efforts to enhance accountability systems, procedures, and mechanisms within the government of Jordan and judicial institutions and enhance their ability to serve and communicate effectively with the public. It also fosters awareness and pressure by civil society organizations, the public, and the private sector on the government’s adherence to the law and its international commitments to govern in an accountable manner that safeguards the rights of vulnerable populations. Position Summary:

The Leadership Trainer will be responsible for developing the leadership and management capabilities of judges at the Judicial Institute of Jordan (JIJ) to enable them to take on senior positions within the courts and other judiciary institutions. The Trainer will provide specialized training in key technical areas, including leadership, strategic planning, governance, creativity and innovation, dealing with litigants, and managing vulnerable groups such as women, children, and people with disabilities. The Trainer will also deliver training on dispute resolution between administrative parties within the judiciary. PAJ intends to hire up to five trainers for the different specified areas, and the training will take place at the Judicial Institute of Jordan. This is a time-bound project, and the maximum level of effort required is 50 days for all trainers combined between May and mid-August.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with relevant representatives from PAJ and the JIJ to develop high-quality training materials and utilize existing materials, where applicable, based on best practices..
  • Design and execute a comprehensive training program or workshop for selected participants that covers all the required technical areas.
  • Prepare a detailed training workshop report that includes a list of participants, any remarks, and lessons learned from the training.
  • Conduct pre- and post-evaluations to measure the knowledge and skills gained by participants accurately and provide PAJ with the results of the assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering management, law, business, or public administration required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a consultant and trainer in the specified technical areas with Government of Jordan and/or international donor agencies required.
  • Minimum of 120 training hours required.
  • Trainer certification is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all related stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic required.
