College/Department Profile
The Office of Strategic Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (SIEED) has been established in Fall 2021 in the QU President Office to initiate, manage, execute, and/or coordinate developments of the President Office innovation and transformation cross-strategies and initiatives (e.g. Innovation & Entrepreneurship strategy, Digital Transformation Strategy, etc.) among other strategic innovation and transformation duties and functions. The SIEED Office is also particularly focused on design, management, and execution on the evolution of holistic and mature QU Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Economic Development Ecosystem across all QU sectors and emerging companies and ventures in integrated manner with the National Innovation & Economic Development ecosystem. This particular focus is in the process of realizing QU new vision aiming at positioning Qatar University as a .. Catalyst for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of Qatar and is closely integrating with state transformation efforts into Innovation & Knowledge Based Economy (iKBE) as envisioned in Qatar National Vision 2030, the National Development Strategies, and Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) 2030 Strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities
1.Analyze innovation and entrepreneurship training needs and requirements for internal and external stakeholders of QU innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development ecosystem
2.Lead and/or assist in design and development of state of the art innovation and entrepreneurship training programs for QU and external stakeholders (faculty, students, alumni, entrepreneurs, etc.)
3.Deliver series of innovation and entrepreneurship training programs, workshops, seminars, etc. for internal and external stakeholders onsite and/or online
4.Conduct periodic research and scan of trends, best practices, and digital contents relevant to innovation and entrepreneurship training
5.Develop, maintain, and update inventory of digital innovation and entrepreneurship training content and materials (already available online and/or home grown), and coach its utilization by QU and external innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem stakeholders
6.Research trends and exploit digital tools, systems, and platforms for innovation and entrepreneurship training, coaching, mentorship, and development
7.Develop and maintain an inventory of locally and internationally innovation and entrepreneurship mentors and coaches
8.Provide innovation and entrepreneurship coaching and mentorship for internal and external stakeholders and entrepreneurs involved in commercialization and/or startups development Co-supervise entrepreneurial senior design graduation projects, or courses projects
9.Assist in planning and organization of national and international innovation events in collaboration with other office members and key stakeholders internally and externally
10.Prepare and implement innovation and entrepreneurship marketing campaigns and training budget, and ensure that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to the allocated training budget
11.Assist in design and delivery of innovation and entrepreneurship curricular components and digital learning content for integration in QU education ecosystem
12.Assist in developing research proposals, and/or funding grants from external donors for expansion and scaling up of impactful innovation and entrepreneurship training programs and/or research projects
13.Develop marketing materials, reports, research papers and presentations in innovation and entrepreneurship relevant to areas of scope of duties
14.Lead liaising and collaboration activities with key innovation and entrepreneurship training stakeholders in the national ecosystem, and internationally
15.Assist the Office Director, Associate Directors, and Senior Strategic Advisors in day to day operations related to innovation & entrepreneurship
16.Any other duties as assigned by direct line manager.
