POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Chief of Party position will be hired on a USAID higher education program in Jordan. This program will work assist Jordanian higher education institutions provide quality, inclusive, student-centered, market relevant education and foster innovation for economic growth, through partnerships with industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical leadership and vision for the program
- Supervise development and submission of program deliverables
- Oversight over all program activities
- Primary liaison to USAID and key stakeholders including the Government of Jordan (GOJ), as well as other donors, universities, the private sector, civil society and other relevant implementing partners
- Supervise program monitoring, evaluation and learning
- Oversight of all program staff
- Ensure compliance with all donor rules and regulations
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
- At least 10 years of international development experience managing projects directly related to higher education or public-private partnerships with relevant management, supervisory and technical experience, at least 7 years of which was in a senior management/leadership role
- Ability to advise host country contacts at the ministerial level and create and maintain effective working relations with internal and local stakeholders
- Proven track record and experience in project design, policy dialogue, strategic planning and implementation of higher education and private sector partnerships
- Strong knowledge of the Jordanian context
- Previous experience working with USAID and/or other international donors
- Master’s dress in public administration, international development, education management or a field relevant to this activity
- English fluency required
- Arabic fluency strongly desired
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (either on a full time, temporary, or hybrid basis).

Up to 50% business travel may be needed to support the Program as needed.
