Project Summary:

The Jordan Public Accountability and Justice Strengthening Activity (PAJ) is designed to strengthen accountability systems, procedures, and mechanisms within the Government of Jordan and judicial institutions and enhance their ability to serve and communicate effectively with the public. It also fosters awareness and pressure by civil society organizations, the public, and the private sector on the government’s adherence to the law and its international commitments to govern in an accountable manner that safeguards the rights of vulnerable populations. Position Summary:

The Statistician Expert will be responsible for providing support to the General Secretariat of the Judicial Council (JC) through enhancing the capacity of JC staff in data collection, methodology design, statistical data analysis, report drafting, and studies. This short-term technical assignment is to be performed over six months and requires 60 days level of effort.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with technical teams to identify responsible parties and ensure sources of data and collection methods feed KPIs.
• Assist in conducting various types of surveys, training needs assessments, evaluations of training courses, public opinion polls, case studies, etc.
• Monitor data collection, utilize mathematical and statistical modelling, and present findings and recommendations.
• Provide strategic advice based on data results.
• Provide technical support with judicial annual reports and other reports as needed.
• Conduct on-job training to enhance the capacity of JC staff in data collection, methodology design, statistical data analysis, report drafting, and studies.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in statistics or relevant subject matter required.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in statistical analysis and strategic planning required.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), SPSS and familiar with popular statistical software.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.Fluent in Arabic is required. Strong proficiency in English is preferred.
