ABOUT WFP

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The Field Monitoring Assistant for the Vulnerability Needs Review (FMA – VNR) will work in the South Area Office and in collaboration with other units in WFP.

Supervision received:

This post is based in Damascus and falls under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer in WFP Syria South Area Office in Damascus.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Within delegated authority, the FMA – VNR will be responsible for the following duties: (These duties are not all-inclusive nor exhaustive)

• Prepare and facilitate trainings to cooperating partner (CP) staff on the VNR (Vulnerability Needs Review);
• Coordinate with CPs on all other tasks associated with the VNR exercise;
• Support CPs in coordinating and planning data collection for the second phase of the VNR;
• Monitor VNR data collection by CPs and follw up on any arising issues to ensure data collection is completed within the planned timeline;
• Verify data reliability and support cooperating partners in data collection;
• Do spot checks on CP staff during data collection in the field;
• Liaise with Country Office VAM Unit on all VNR tasks to ensure completion of VNR withing the planned timeline;
• Support with the roll-out of the VNR;
• Any other tasks as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education.

Experience: At least four years of progressively responsible field experience in humanitarian assistance including at least one year experience in Vulnerability Needs Review (VNR) implementation and field of statistics

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English.
