Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Jordan and the direct supervision of the Migration Management Unit Head, the Project Assistant will be responsible for providing technical assistance to IOM Jordan in general and the Migration Management Unit in particular.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Support the timely implementation of MMU project activities in line with IOM’s procedures and regulations.
- Contribute to the drafting of new concept notes, projects and reports.
- Assist MMU with tasks related to data collection activities implying direct contact with beneficiaries in addition to in implementing CREST initiative.
- Assist in drafting communication materials including press releases, articles, key messages, newsletters, and other advocacy materials.
- Support in drafting, promoting and distributing of key knowledge management, research, and reporting products.
- Provide logistical support to communications and advocacy efforts and campaigns, e.g., by supporting the organization of roundtable discussions, conferences, and other publicity events and providing inputs to briefing materials and press releases.
- Assist in preparing updates and posts, when needed, items and content to the website and social media Undertake duty travel related to project implementation and monitoring, as requested.
- Attend internal meetings related to operational areas of IOM's activities.
- Assist in drafting internal/external correspondence on the various programme, and activities of the MMU.
- Perform other tasks within the incumbent’s capacity as identified by the Program Manager.
Education & Experience:
- University degree in business, finance, international relations or any relevant field, with 2 years’ experience or High School Diploma with 4 years of relevant working experience.
- Experience in IOM’s internal financial and logistical procedures.
- Experience in IOM’s Corporate Responsibility on Eliminating Slavery and Trafficking Initiative.
- Experience on how the Jordanian government structure and current reporting lines.
- Experience in drafting and developing reports.
Skills & Technical:
- Experience in the usage of Microsoft packages (MS Word, Excel, etc).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Attention to detail and ability to organize.
- Self-motivated and objective driven
- Delivers on set objectives in hardship situations.
Languages:
Thorough knowledge of English and Arabic
