Director of People & Culture
As Avertra continues to grow, we are seeking an energetic, proactive, creative, and communicative Director of People & Culture to develop and grow our exceptional team, attract the top applicants, spearhead career path planning to ensure our employees’ sustainable professional and personal growth, and maintain and develop our global culture. This position is one of the most critical roles in the company, as it will provide guidance to our leadership layer and pave the way for our People & Culture growth at Avertra, which is a facet we believe to be one of the most critical at our organization.
The Director of People & Culture would enable the development of an environment where our team can thrive by designing, developing, and implementing strategies to recruit, develop, and retain top talent. They would not only be proficient in creating and developing strategies, but also roll their sleeves up and not shy away from getting hands on and working on the tactical execution.
The ideal candidate for this role would possess good judgement, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a passion for people. They would also be a confident leader with demonstrated experience in uncovering operational gaps, identifying opportunities for improvement, and proposing creative and pragmatic solutions through a change management lens. They would also have solid experience in companies that are in hyper growth mode, and therefore possess a fire-fighting mindset to be able to keep up in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Additionally, the suitable candidate would have an automation first mindset, whereby they always look for ways to move away from manual tasks to adopt a system driven approach.

Job Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Prepare and analyze metrics and provide reports that support decision-making in specified areas in People & Culture.
- Creating the right leadership structure for a global team by adapting and modernizing industry best practices.
- Ensuring that company policies are enforced and employees are treated fairly.
- Mentoring and grooming staff in the People & Culture organization.
Talent Management & Culture:
- Review and propose process streamlining strategies across the talent lifecycle.
- Manage Performance Review process and assist with goal development, by ensuring that individual goals are derived from department & corporate goals.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to implement strategies for employee engagement and retention.
- Oversee Talent Assessment and Development to ensure that leaders are aware of best practices around helping their teams develop on a professional and personal level.
- Develop strategies around employee retention and career progression.
- Drive the Performance Management function development and execution.
- Develop Avertra’s training strategy, management, and execution.
- Drive Skills Gap Analysis to ensure that training and development roadmap is up to date and accurate.
- Oversee development of Standard Operating Procedures & Job Aids.
- Create and maintain manuals around Learning & Development.
- Implement new, and enhance existing staff recognition and reward programs.
- Work with People Operations team to enhance global policies and ensure that compliance is implemented.
- Work with Talent Manager to enhance procedures around:
- Onboarding and offboarding
- Talent Acquisition & Development
- Employee Happiness & Culture

Education:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred), and a minimum of 8 years of HR experience in the above areas
Experience:
8+ years in a relevant role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Familiarity with all aspects of HR, including compensation, recruitment, benefits, training.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to lead meetings and presentations, and ability to interface with all levels of staff with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to advocate for both staff and management.
- Highly proactive style of work, with a demonstrated track record of developing innovative approaches
- Highly skilled at project management; proven success working in a fast-paced environment and delivering against multiple work streams
- Fluent in change management strategies and best practice; proven success in implementing change across an organization
- Experience with companies that have been in hyper growth mode
- A fire fighting mindset and willing to keep up in a fast moving environment
- Combination of strategy as well as tactical execution and not afraid to be hands on
- Automation mindset by moving away from manual tasks to adopt a system driven approach
